Announcing: Mummy

Hi, gang!

Yes, it’s been a few weeks since my last blog update, but uh, we’ve been a little busy over here.  🙂

The first and most important low-down is that the Mummy: The Curse Kickstarter has launched (link below). We’ll be looking to shout it from the rooftops through the holidays, since we only have until January 10th (a shorter pledge period than most projects). And on that score, we’re hoping some folks consider getting the book as a gift for a friend or loved one, since we know that’s where most disposable income goes this time of year. If you have gamers in your life, they could certainly do worse.

The second low-down is that we can finally share the patented WoD “skull icon” for this new game. Enjoy.

Until next time,

Senebti!

Thank you for your hard work CAS. Going to gift a pdf copy to a lucky fan in addition to the pledge.

Thank you, CAS! Its been a long wait, but we are finally there. Been lurking on this blog since the beginning, so nice to see it reach this stage.

I know the delivery period for the actual physical book is March 2013. I was kinda wondering however, if we will see the PDF version earlier? Possibly mid-January? After the Kickstarter has finished and DriveThruRPG can issue you guys with the “free pdf” coupons?

You can tell I pledged enough to get that coupon. Sweetest $50 (about £30 for me here in the UK) I’ve ever spent 😛

The PDF-only reward tiers list their delivery date as February, for whatever that’s worth.

I’m hoping that’s just a very conservative estimate. Maybe we’ll get the PDFs a few days or a week after the Kickstarter concludes.

      Thanks, man.

And thanks to all you Mummy Blog die-hards for your patience. We fell a couple extra weeks behind schedule there, and you guys rode it out like troupers.

Aaaand the first goal is fully funded after 24 hours.

You guys are amazing, but remember, big Kickstarters like this are rarely just about the first goal, and I wish I could tell you all the cool things we have planned for Stretch Goals, but I’m not allowed to until and unless the pledges account for it.

I know we’ve got the holidays coming up and everything, but if you could keep an eye on the Kickstarter over the next couple weeks here, and keep spreading the word where and when you can, you’ll all benefit from it at the end of the run. Trust me. 🙂

Definitely spreading the word. I’m excited to see what some of the other stretch goals and rewards are. I know you cant reveal exactly what they are, but can you let slip how many you have planned out?

Just wondering, will we see the pdf in DriveThru before the end of the year?

Mwahahaha! I know I haven’t been commenting before, but that is mostly just because all I had to say were my demands that you guys get the Kickstarter launched which isn’t exactly constructive commenting. Now I’m happy and I can’t wait to get my dirty and unworthy mortal hands to the book. I have seriously high expectations, by the way.

I go away for a few days, and you guys start the party without me? Outrageous!

    And… there was much rejoicing.

Unfortunately, actually pledging money will have to wait until the payday after the new year. Curse the Season of Joy.

Okay, so, CAS… I hope this finds you, because, man, I have a big question on my mind. See, I’m pledged as an Arisen, so even though my own character isn’t going to be a major player within the context of the game’s fiction, I’m still very concerned about the character I’m making, even if it’s going to be nothing more than a name.

So, at the very least, answer me this… I can make any kind of mummy character I can imagine, right? And with that being said, will my character only be listed by name, or will there be some small amount of room for a description of some kind.

Hopefully you can answer me soon and take away some of my stress.

I’ve been assuming it’s going to be just a long list of names, considering that there are currently over 1,300 people to list on the credits page.

I’m an officially pledged Arisen, too, now! Let the cycle of ages turn, and the kings come forth by day. Cower not in fear of those who do evil, for the judges of righteousness by whom we are sent are more terrible by far.

I dont know where to post this but what’s the word on the Scroll of Ages virutal tool?
It references to check this website for news.

@jburgos – That’s what I came here looking for, too. I also intend to review the updates on KS, to see if I missed something there, but if you could point us the right direction, CAS, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Joe. We’re working on a way to bring that to you guys with a minimum of fuss, but it’s taking a little longer than we thought. Glad to see you’re eager to make use of it; just hang in there while find the right home and interface for it.

I’ll post back here when we know something concrete.

Thanks for getting back to us, CAS! I look forward to WW’s/OP’s resources and inspirations, as well as those by other players, and will add any I come up with. Cheers!

Hey, I’m about to buy the book in print. I just wanted to know, which difference is the Premium to Standard editions? I mean, just to avoid buying the cheaper and then find is different from the ebautiful editions from other WoD books. Thanks.

The premium edition uses a thicker paper stock, which means the colours are sharper and more vibrant.
