Now Available: Hurt Locker and Condition Cards in print!

Now available in print from DriveThruRPG:

Chronicles of Darkness: Hurt Locker!

“Of course it hurts. Everything hurts. If you’re alive, you hurt. Don’t think of yourself as bleeding out; think of yourself as more alive.”

Horror is all about the stakes. And most commonly, pain, injury, and death are those stakes. Hurt Locker is all about the stuff that hurts. We talk why it hurts, how it hurts, and how to deliver pain at your table beyond just rolling the dice and marking health boxes.

Hurt people hurt people. Weíre talking ramifications of violence and how pain perpetuates pain down the line. Weíre talking about how even after wounds heal, scars always remind you.

Hurt Locker features:

  • Treatment of violence in the Chronicles of Darkness. Lasting trauma, scene framing, and other tools for making your stories hurt.
  • Many new player options, including Merits, supernatural knacks, and even new character types like psychic vampires and sleeper cell soldiers.
  • Expanded equipment and equipment rules.

Beast: The Primordial Condition Cards!

Did your heart seize up in your chest a little when I said that? It should. Those horrors you’ve dreamed of all your life – the arms dragging you down into the ooze, the thing with fangs and too many legs waiting in the dark, the sleek, silent killer dropping on you from a clear sky – they’re real.

But don’t fret, little brother. You’ll never have to wake up in fear, ever again. The nightmares are real…and you’re one of them.

Now, let us feast.”

Part of the Beast: The Primordial rules, Conditions add an additional layer of consequence and reward to certain actions in the Chronicles of Darkness. Various things within the course of a game can cause Conditions. These include exceptional successes, supernatural abilities, and really any situation where the Storyteller thinks they can be used to heighten the drama of a game.

These Beast: The Primordial Condition Cards are a handy way to keep track of and incorporate Conditions into your Chronicle with each of the 36 cards featuring a single Condition.

Promethean: The Created 2nd Edition Condition Cards!

You are a pilgrim now, one of the Created. You rose to life from dead flesh or inert matter, under the ministrations of one of your own, or a mad scientist, or perhaps just the power of the Divine Fire. You wander the world, sometimes alone, sometimes in the blessed company of your own kind, driven by memories of events and facts you never knew, all in the service of one Great Work…

…to be human.

Considering in Beast there are certain condition like starving, sated, slumbering etc. that can be assigned to multiple players why do you choose to put just one copy of these conditions?

We have no way of knowing how your personal games will work and how many cards your group uses for any given condition; most folks prefer not to pay for extra cards they won’t use in their games.

In Beast each player have always the starving, sated, ravenous or slumbering condition. So I think it would be perfect to have 4x for these essential condition cards

Or each player can get their own deck…
