Punks and New Agers and Hacktavists

Big Ritual Blood Play

A lot of interesting and passionate discussion of the chapters thus far! A few quick notes:

  • I want to remind folks reviewing these drafts that these are very early drafts — not only do I generally expect moderate-to-heavy rewrites of entire sections at this stage, but also these chapters are reviewed a number of times after this stage. You’re seeing this very early work because this is the best time to find errors and concerns. Don’t take it as gospel, though.
  • Due to the volume and intensity of the discussion, I ended up losing time this week that should have gone to revising more drafts. As such, I’m going to have to disengage from discussion for a while to keep cranking out draft revisions, and pick up comments when I’m ready to compile my thoughts for the writers to incorporate into their next draft. If you comment on the blog or the document, that will capture your thoughts for me when I’m ready to take that step.
  • Related, some folks are going around telling people that these are final decisions and that I/the writers are ruining/changing Masquerade because of ignorance/stupidity/fan organization agendas/the Illuminati. Please stop. You’re not helping.

Enough of that — let’s get back to the awesome stuff. Here’s Alan’s chapter on the Anarchs. I love working with Alan, and his chapters are usually pretty clean. I used him for this chapter specifically because he worked on Anarchs Unbound, and I wanted to have a connection with that book. Since AU isn’t out yet, you may see references that you don’t have context for. Feel free to call them out, so I can check back to make sure they’re lining up with Justin’s work, but I wanted to give a heads-up that there is a larger plan at work here.

    Eddy,

I’m the current Anarch Coordinator for One World by Night, and an ST for one of the six purely Anarch games in that org. I have to say, we’re all pretty psyched about what we’ve been seeing so far! It’s pretty awesome.

Couple of curious questions though: what about the combination disciplines that are from the ‘earlier’ editions, but not seen so far in these teases? Are they still going to be there? Also, what about the Curses from the old Anarch Cookbook, and the other rituals from both that sourcebook, as well as the follow-up?

Everything overall has been so far, jaw-droppingly fresh and good. We wait with bated breath for the newest chapters to come out, and for us to peruse. When is the actual publication due?

Combo Disciplines are in Anarchs Unbound, I believe. Release date for that should be in a couple of months. Release date for Rites is near the end of the year.
