Scarred Lands Player’s Guide Kickstarter is Live!

SL PF Faux BookSmallThe Kickstarter for a new edition of Scarred Lands is now live!

Born at the advent of 3e, the Scarred Lands fantasy roleplaying setting returns in not just one, but two new forms! More than a decade after the setting was created, we want to share this classic setting with fans of both Pathfinder and 5th Edition by creating two different versions of the core book.

We want to put this new version of the Scarred Lands into the hands of the thousands of players of the original 3e OGL version, but we also want to introduce new players to this large and detailed world. We hope to accomplish this directly to those backing our project and also by funding an offset press print run of the two versions of the book to sell to game stores.

Onyx Path co-owns the Scarred Lands with Nocturnal Media, Stewart Wieck’s company, who are running this particular Kickstarter.

I think there’s something wrong with the shipping prices for this one. Shipping to Poland costs 27$, whereas shipping to Germany costs 15$. How can shipping costs increase so much between neighbouring countries? Furthermore, I can’t imagine that shipping a book to Poland costs as much as shipping it to Nigeria or Western Sahara, but that’s the case here…

I didn’t set the shipping costs, but I’ll bring your question up to Stew Wieck. Thanks!

From Stew, hope it explains things:
The US Post Office charges about $40 for a 4lb (about 2 kilos, around the expected weight of the game + packing material) package shipped to either Germany or Poland from the US via 1st Class International Mail. We will hire a fulfillment house to ship the Scarred Lands PG and I imagine based on higher volume shipped to Germany they can simply provide a much better rate. Still, both rates are discounted from what we would have to charge if we shipped these ourselves instead of hiring a fulfillment house.

Thanks for getting that reply for me.

Shipping prices have also recently gone up for USPS, FedEx, and USPS. USPS goes into effect 1/17, but the other two have already increased their pricing.

Will any of the monsters be a part of this release?
