[Trinity Continuum: Aberrant] Development Team

Today is N-Day, the day the Galatea station explodes in orbit, beginning the Aberrant era. As such, Onyx Path Publishing would like to take the opportunity to begin our own Aberrant era by announcing the development team for the upcoming Trinity Continuum: Aberrant rulebook.

Ian A. A. Watson will continue in his role as Trinity Continuum Creative Lead, providing overall guidance and direction for the books of the Aberrant era.

Eddy Webb is taking on the role of Managing Developer, maintaining his record of excellence in directing freelancers and project management.

And we’re delighted to introduce Steve Kenson as our Lead Designer, who will help shape the new edition of Aberrant into something we’re all proud of and excited about. As designer of RPGs like Mutants & Masterminds, DC Adventures, and ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying, as well as writer on RPGs like Champions, DC Universe, Marvel Super Heroes, and Silver Age Sentinels, we couldn’t resist bringing the resident expert in superhero RPGs to our team to lend his unique voice.

Steve has previously written on a number of Aberrant’s first edition titles, including Aberrant Worldwide: Phase I and the Aberrant Players Guide. We look forward to working with him!

That’s quite the pedigree. I’m happy with it as Aberrant is my favorite superhero rpg

Can you give us your estimate on when the ABERRANT Kickstarter will take place?

We’ve only just started development. It’s far too early to estimate for a Kickstarter.

and you won’t start Adventure! stuff until that right?

Well, if you want to get away from “This is not a superhero game”, there are probably less decisive ways to make that statement than bringing Sturdy Steve Kenson* on board, but I can’t think of them. (Takes me back to the dev notes Ian did for a fan-published Aberrant Storyteller’s Handbook back in the days when “TU revival” meant the d20 editions, whose introduction was called “This Is a Superhero Game” for much the same reason.)

    * Does the Onyx Path bullpen already have someone “sturdy” on board? I remember Steve Ditko was sturdy in Marvel’s bullpen.

I could not be MORE excited for this. I just finished reading all my Aberrant first edition and strongly believe it to be the most compelling “super hero” universe ever =) Cannot wait to see how you guys do it justice. I’ll be preaching this far and wide 🙂
