Dead Crops is a scenario for the Storypath Ultra setting Guardians of the Dying World.
It provides a way for guardians and their Storyguide to get right into the setting and start having fun. It can serve as an introduction to the world of Nikkoh or another quest for the guardians to embark upon during their overarching mission to save Nikkoh from the collapse of magic and the massive famine that looms overhead. It also acts as an illustration of large-scale combat and a complex web of influence actions, for Storyguides looking for examples of how those systems work in practice.

A witch totem is a tiny creature constructed from carved wood, bundles of twigs, leaves, grass, and other natural materials. It resembles a doll and bears a rune etched upon its forehead. Witch totems are often used as spies and scouts, gathering information at the behest of their creators. Though these constructed creatures are unfalteringly loyal to their creators, they’re typically made for peaceful purposes.
Witch totems rarely initiate combat unless their creator specifically commands them to do so. Instead, they remain hidden, watching their enemies and reporting back to their masters. If forced or commanded to fight totems favor using darts, preferably from a hidden vantage point. Totems use their tiny claws only as a last resort, preferring to flee and hide from enemies.
This booklet contains game traits, tactics, and a brief overview of the witch totem’s history and appearance. This booklet also includes plot hooks for introducing witch totems into your campaign!
