Exalted Kickstarter is Live!

Exalted3eLive and… a little late in me posting, because Exalted fans are insane. We were fully funded in 18 minutes. I don’t know if that breaks any Kickstarter records, but that definitely breaks Onyx Path records.

I am a huge Exalted fan myself, but.. sadly, my wife and I on a budget.

I funded the MtC core happily for $40, and am more than happy to wait for my physical copy of the book. But this kickstarter — you can’t get a physical copy of Exalted 3 for less than /$110/?

I’ll fund for a PDF, but I really wanted a physical copy. I’m pretty disappointed, to be honest! Are the PoD copies after release going to be less expensive, I hope?

I’m a huge fan of Exalted and I’m crazy to check the 3rd edition.
I hope PoD copies after release going to be less expensive as well, $110 is a lot. I am an old fashioned player, I like having the physical copy of the book.

People: the book you get in the Kickstarter is the Deluxe version. Not only is the PoD copy going to be cheaper, you’ll even get it faster.

Question: the estimated delivery date for PDFs is October 2013. Is that the revised scheduled date for the Exalted core to come out?

I admit I haven’t followed the situation pretty well, but as I understand it that’s what’s going on with the Mummy Deluxe Edition. The kickstarter is NOT a pre-order, it’s an occasion to support the game line and get cool loot. See what Rich said here:

Whats happened is the deluxe mummy edition has some embossing, gilded edges, a book ribbon, and an overall nicer printing job more in line with the old non print on demand nWoD corebooks.

this has lead to the deluxe edition taking more time to print, as they’ve been hashing out the embossing plates for the covers and the coloration.

wait, people can buy and get the PoD copy of the rules before i get my deluxe copy from my kickstarter pledge?

My understanding is the deluxe editions go through a different printer, and there’s a massive time differences since they have to print a run of say, 1000 sewn hardbound books as opposed to DtRPG who only has to crank out 1000 perfect bound books one at a time and ship them out.

Yes– the deluxe version takes a lot of time and effort to make. On the plus side, when it finally arrives, your book is way cooler than an unlimited PoD copy, and you will get the PDF to read before non-backers have a chance to get the PDF or PoD.

Just a thought, in case you happen to know already — will the PoD version be available in full color right from the start, or is the Deluxe edition our only current option to get a full color version of Ex3?

Keep up the great work, guys!

I don’t know if it’ll be available in full colour right from the start (although I see no reason why not). It’ll definitely be available in colour sooner rather than later. Deluxe is not the only way to get a colour version.

I really wish you guys would have lower end physical copies of the books for people who cant drop 135$ on a book. I dont care if its not as smexy as the people who payed mint for there copies, but it would be nice to get more then a PDF for a 60 or 70$ kickstart.

Unfortunately the level of the tiers reflect our costs.

If you’re not interested in a deluxe edition, you can always wait until it’s available in print on demand.
