Count Cho… Dracula

Count Cho... Dracula!

Meeting Notes

  • Rich remarks on the funny Dracula bust I now have as my Skype picture. I point out that Bill gave it to me for my desk. (The picture is on the right — you can even see my bag cowering behind it.)
  • I talk about taking a CS101 course to brush up on my English-to-programmer translation.
  • The V20 Companion is in the process of being approved.
  • Ethan is working hard on W20, and all art is assigned.
  • Colin’s still going along with Mummy. We both poked at the Mummy dev blog site a bit to get that rolling.
  • I sent off my two characters to Justin for Children of the Revolution.
  • We didn’t have much to go over, so we wrapped it up a bit early.

Today’s Reason to Drink: I just found out that Professor M.A.R. Barker, author of Empire of the Petal Throne, passed away last month. Raise a glass in memory of the architect of  Tékumel.

  1. Do I get major geek points if the first role playing game I ever seriously sat down and looked at was Empire of the Petal Throne. After going through that, my response to D&D was: meh.

  2. Whoot! W20 artists are all assigned? *rubs hands together* Will we get a list of those involved before the book is put together? Or is that like counting chickens before they’re hatched?

Also, another request for W20: Can we also get the “Special Thanks” back with the kooky nick names and such in the front? Honestly, they were great to see in each book, and after 10 years, there’s gotta be some new nicknames and reasons behind them to give. 😀

    • The Special Thanks section of V20 was a massive dense block of text. They wouldn’t have had room for old-style Thanks. If it’s any indication of what W20 will look like, they probably won’t have room there, either.

Other cWOD books? Sure, that’d be fun. Cores? Doubtful.

      • There’s a Special Thanks in V20 Companion and I’m trying to bring it back for all WW books- when’s there’s room like Ian says.

        • Well, it doesn’t have to be for EVERYONE. *chuckle* But I get what you’re saying.
Still, I’m glad to hear that it’s on your guys’ minds nonetheless. They really were a great bit of “we’re having fun here. Don’t be so serious” that helped take the edge off of an otherwise pretty serious game.
