That’s right – it’s the last few days of the Exalted Essence Players Guide crowdfunding campaign on BackerKit!
Let’s give a big Woohoo! that the pledging is headed apace towards the Stretch Goal that unlocks a new Essence Novella! Thanks to all of you backing that are driving towards achieving that goal – and maybe just a few more before this crowdfunder is over on Thursday! (Or longer as this is BackerKit where a Backer Train of pledging could keep the campaign rolling and open past the set time limit!)
Since we are heading into the last few days, here’s a reminder about Feedback Forms. These are what we use during our crowdfunding events so that backers can provide us with, well, feedback! We’ve been using these on our crowdfunders for years now, so if you missed what they are, or just forgot, we absolutely and totally appreciate backers taking the time to note anything they aren’t quite sure about.
They are where you want to note that stuff, too, because our teams can’t trawl all over the many places where folks might post their thoughts and opinions. We need you to use the Feedback Form so all your observations and notes can be compiled from one place and sifted through. Those that the devs agree need to be acted on will be as we finalize the text, and get it put together with the graphic design and art. Thanks!

Hey, it’s the final week of the crowdfunder! Excited to see we’re over 400% funded and over a thousand backers, which is really exciting (especially with, you know, everything going on in the world right now). I’m told there’s been a lot of very spirited discussion about the material that’s presented. Of course, we love that Exalted fans are so passionate, but it’s a good time to remind folks that our developers and writers are fans as well, and they care just as much about the game as you do, so please be civil and productive with your feedback. We read everything that comes into our feedback form, and already we have over 120 comments. We’re looking forward to reading it all when we wrap up, so please get it there in the next week or so!

Yep.
Sometimes our meetings get just a tad weird. I know that’s a surprise, but there you go. And this time Travis subsumed Eddy and took Eddy’s place as the owner of the TTRPG biz. Totally normal meeting.
Things continue to swirl out in Table Top Land (the mythical dimension where “all games are true”), with more reports of gaming companies closing down, and others announcing they are letting their projects sit unshipped, due to the current tariffs. Much as we’ve noted here and on our social media, we’re examining a lot of options in terms of who to print with and where, and how to ship and from where. We are keep-on-keeping-on with creating our books, while still exploring the best ways to deliver them. Remember, all of our stuff winds up on DTRPG in PDF and/or PoD forms, and those kinds of game products are as yet un-impacted by the current situation.
In addition, we keep suggesting sales, like the IPR Spring Into Darkness Sale where you can get our already traditionally printed projects for sale and un-tariffed! They still have a solid group of WoD20 projects available, too!
We’re also putting out two projects this Wednesday on DTRPG, so you have two solid reasons to get Scion: Titans Rising and/or The Pillars of Creation for Exalted Essence: Get them now before things get even weirder economically, plus, if you are not in the US, your books will be printed and shipped from one of the plants in Canada, the UK, the EU, or even Australia!
We’re still keeping on in the virtual/online world with this info about our upcoming Onyx Path Virtual Con from Travis:
Hey folks! We are once again ramping up for the Onyx Path Virtual Gaming Convention! This year’s convention will take place June 6-8 with panels being hosted on the Onyx Path Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/theonyxpath) and actual plays taking place at the plasticageplays Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/plasticageplays)! This year we’re also partnering with StartPlaying.Games to ensure attendees have a variety of games on offer to play. We’ll be announcing specific schedules and details soon!

Finally, just a reminder that while we’re all trying to find our way in a rapidly changing and chaotic landscape, there are a lot more stresses on everybody. That writer might not be able to sit and write today, even though they have a deadline, because the real world is being awful. That printer we’re talking to might stop talking to us because their government has decided to deal with our country differently.
You might just want to duck out of real-world crappiness by posting on Discord, or wherever, but stay aware that those people replying are actually people – who are also taking a break from a scary world. Even if you normally post the “hard truth” about somebody’s ideas, or their creative output, consider ratcheting down the hard part in consideration of what the other folks might be going through.
What I’m encouraging here is that classic line: Play Nice. Now’s the time, and you all deserve it, so let’s give some leeway to our fellow dreamers and gamers. It’s a great way to represent our:

Happy Birthday to Robert Smith (born 1959), whom you may know “is an English musician who is the co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the Cure, a post-punk rock band formed in 1976. His guitar-playing style, singing voice, and fashion sense, often sporting a pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, unkempt wiry black hair, and all-black clothes, were highly influential on the goth subculture that rose to prominence in the 1980s.” I was introduced to his music in the White Wolf GenCon booth in 1991, and in 1992-93 I heard their music every workday morning for at least an album, sometimes more, as I shared an office with the original White Wolf artist Joshua Gabriel Timbrook. Every. Single. Day. It is a testament to Mr. Smith that I still like listening to their music, occasionally.
