Well, we are getting in the last of the art for Branch Riders – like this piece showing their central hub by GONG – so that’s something we’re super-glad about!
As I mentioned last week, I think, right now we’re mostly busy preparing for two major events: this year’s Onyx Path Virtual Gaming Convention, and the crowdfunding campaign for Pugmire and Beyond, our latest big book for Realms of Pugmire!
First, there’s the convention. We’ve had a lot of fun and shared some great times during the previous Virtual Cons, and we’re working hard to insure that this year’s is no exception. On the panels part of the convention, we’re filling them with folks we hope you’ll enjoy hearing from, and who are well-versed in the game lines you’ll probably be asking questions about.
We’ve got a list of previews and announcements that we are continually adding to, because we know folks love hearing about what’s new! And yes, for those of you who just can’t get on to our sites during the Con, we’ll move the recordings of those panels over to our YouTube channel and elsewhere sometime after the Con itself, assuming the tech works the way it should.
Always have to give that caveat, because it’s always the panel you’re really interested in that loses the sound in the recording, isn’t it?
As for having opportunities to play, our friends at Startplaying.Games are providing games during the con and they are joined by our demo teams from Envoy, so you know they’ll bring their experience of running our games! In fact, I understand that the Envoy team has uploaded their available games to the Startplaying site and they’ll be popping up there even as I write this.
Check below in the Conventions Blurbs section for UPDATED links and schedules!
Here’s Travis, who coordinates all of our OPVC moving pieces, with a note about the Con:
Onyx Path Virtual Gaming Convention 2025 is just around the corner! As we enter the final weeks of preparation, the schedule is settling in. Some panels and actual plays needed minor tweaks, which is normal for this stage of the game. People’s availability shifts and schedule issues bubble up, but so far we’ve been able to roll with the punches pretty easily and we’re on track for a smooth, fun, and informative show!
We’re also getting games for attendees to play ramped up via Startplaying.games. There are already a few games set up, and I’d encourage you to consider setting one up yourself, if you like running games! It’s a great opportunity to try out games you might not otherwise get the chance to, meet new players, and make a few bucks. Our partners at Envoy who run convention games for us will also be running games via Startplaying.games and those entries will be showing up very soon at https://startplaying.games/event/onyx-path-2025!
I may even try to sneak in a game to run after the convention proper ends. We shall see!
Then there is the Pugmire and Beyond crowdfunding campaign, which is seriously something we are considering doing in a way that shields the project from the gross uncertainty of the traditional printing situation. More on that as we compile ways for making it an exciting campaign for all of our Pugmire friends!
As for what’s in the book – here’s Eddy, Pugmire‘s creator, to give you this week’s run-down:
Pugmire and Beyond is an enhanced player’s guide — a supplement primarily intended to present new options for players, although we do have a chapter in the back for Guides as well. Here’s a teaser of how this book builds on the theme of the core game.
Theme: Companionship as Salvation
Realms of Pugmire focuses on not only collaboration as a team, but also the conflict between personal and cultural morality. The options presented within Pugmire and Beyond emphasizes both of those points in various ways.
The most obvious conflict between personal and cultural morality is the new barghest calling. These controversial dogs study the Unseen to gain power they then use to destroy demons — a strong conflict between personal morality and the Code of Man. But the barghest also comes into conflict with the crusader, a new calling focused on not only martial protection of the Church of Man, but wielding some spiritual magics as well. Both dogs have the same goal of destroying the Unseen from a position of faith, but they go about it on conflicting and potentially contradictory ways.
The new gundog calling is both collaborative and puts stress on a team with their new and powerful gunpowder weapons. These weapons are deadly and dangerous to any foe who stands against a dog wielding them, but the violent noise that comes from them can send even the most hardened dog into fits of terror, or deafen them if they stand too close. Friends and foes alike are scared of these new weapons, and a shot in the wrong place can spell the difference between a triumphant dog and one who is left with no friends. Even the knowledgeable and adventurous scholar can be extremely useful to a group of pioneers, but their secular interest and compelling curiosity to stick their nose into the strange mysteries of the world can be off-putting to more religious dogs.

Should have made an orange cat named Tariff Paws.
I mean, the intention and impetus for this should be obvious. We are still watching and worrying about how the tariff uncertainty is affecting both Onyx Path and business as a whole.
If you look at what’s on sale this week, you’ll note that there’s lots of VTT stuff, plus a long-delayed Community Content guide, in addition to our usual Wednesday game book release. Those VTT offerings can really sneak up on you if you are working on getting full books out the door, so this week we’re playing a little catch-up for a lot of our game lines. It’s quite the range: Dystopia Rising: Evolution VTT Tokens, M20 Faces of Magick VTT Tokens, M20 Forgotten & Forbidden VTT Tokens, Trinity Continuum Core VTT Tokens, Trinity Continuum Aegis VTT Tokens, Trinity Continuum Aether VTT Tokens – plus also on DTRPG, the Squeaks in the Deep Community Content package for Canis Minor!
Also, speaking of Virtual Tabletop, Scarred Lands titles are 40% over at Fantasy Grounds until the 25th:

Also, speaking of Scarred Lands, here’s Travis with his second note of this blog:
I’m proud to announce that Gauntlet of Spiragos (SWADE) is now a COPPER Best Seller at DriveThruRPG! Gauntlet of Spiragos (SWADE) is available in POD and PDF. The follow up, Dagger of Spiragos (SWADE) is now in advanced PDF and is collecting errata for one more week, so make sure you don’t miss it! Everyone who gets the PDF prior to the POD release will receive a discount coupon when the POD is available! Just be sure you have opted in to communications from Aegis Studios at DriveThruRPG to ensure you can get your coupon! Keep an eye on this space as there are big things on the horizon for Scarred Lands Savage Worlds!

Last week, we put out a poll about social media and how and which ones you use to hear about our projects. You know, we can look at how our numbers on all the various platforms are rising (at least on the non-hellscape sites), but hearing from you as to your preferences really helps us understand how our community engages. Which means we can better direct our info and teasers and announcements out to where you actually are, instead of just hoping you’ll hear about things.
