Really looking forward to seeing where this goes! I’ve been very critical of the direction of the company since the merger with CCP. I’m hoping with OP things can be brought back to being about producing kick-ass games AND supporting our FLGS’s.
We love FLGSes, but the state of the market meant that if we want to survive, we had to get out of the traditional publishing industry. Unfortunately, that meant getting out of game stores.
We’ve been working with OneBookShelf (DriveThruRPG/RPGNow) on a program which can bring our print-on-demand books into retail stores. It’s slow-going, but we are working on it.
This is the best possible turn of events for a White Wolf fan. I am looking forward to a new era of kick-ass RPGs. Fun times!

This is the best news I as a gamer have heard in nearly a decade. The POD/PDF model of publishing is catching on in a huge way, not just for gamers. But as e-readers become more and more accessible, and that technology continues to become more affordable, it definitely opens new doors. Can’t wait to see where you folks take this.
So are the http://www.white-wolf.com forums down because of this announcement, or is that just a bad timed glitch? (p.s. Yippee on the announcement!)
