Afternoon, everyone! This popped up online a few days ago, but I haven’t had the opportunity to post about it here on the blog yet.
Our latest Onyx Path 2016/2017 Publishing Brochure is now available. Our focus is a bit different this time around, so you won’t seeĀ calendar of upcoming products in the back. Instead, that information’s sprinkled through the appropriate sections of the rest of the brochure.
Thanks to everyone who joined us at Gen Con 2016!
I wasn’t at GenCon. Can you please tell me what the current estimated time of arrival is for the TRINITY CONTINUUM Kickstarter? Thanks
I really love the image for Scion 2nd edition. Is that the new cover art for the origins book? The original of her seemed more like a painting. This one looks seriously divine with the subtle lighting behind her head. Are you going to be redoing the art for Hero, Demigod, and God as well? That would be awesome in that style.
Also, Geist! Woo! Solidifies hope for Mummy 2nd eventually. Really looking forward to getting Geist Second Edition and being one step closer to a complete 2nd edition!
This is awesome! One question, though:it says that “Miracles of the Solar Exalted” is available now. Where can I find it? I don’t see it on DrivethruRPG.
They assumed it would be available when they did the brochure, but as it turned out, it wasn’t.
Yeah, it’s not even on the production schedule in the Monday meetings yet.
I believe it’s listed as backer charms on the production schedule.
Yeah. It’s the backer charms book. Unless something goes wrong with the POD proof they ordered I would expect to see it pretty soon. That said sometimes the pod cycles through a few proofs, so who knows.
Geist, I am THRILLED for, but saw coming. But The Crossover Chronicle?!?!?! YES!!! ALL OF MY YES!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
One of my friends is a big fan of Geist. I’m definitely getting it when it comes out, and I will have to run it for her.
I don’t really get the difference between Scion: Origins and Scion: Hero…
It says that in the second one there are only the Pantheons, while in the first one all the rules for playing with mortals and gods. But knowing the Pantheon is necessary in order to create a Scion to play, isn’t it? Will we need both books in order to play this game?
You’ll need both in order to play a Hero level game, but only Scion: Origins to play a pre-Visitation game. Later on, we have plans for additional books that will work with Scion: Origins to add to the game.
Oh hey, Rich. Any word on whether the Storypath System Preview’s going to be available online?
Just set it to go live. You can find it here:

Thanks, Mike.
Yes, now.
So what’s happening with Vampire? There are no new books for Requiem/B&S besides the Elders book, and no new material for V20 either. Is this due to the WW takeover of the licenses?
We loved the Blood & Smoke approach to Vampire – dark, mature, morally grey, with a focus on dramatic storytelling and built to craft the most memorable personal dramas in the series’ history (we’ve been playing Vampire since 1st ed). Is Onyx Path no longer going to be involved with its future? If so, I’m truly sad, as Rose’s re-visioning of the line was stellar, awesomely superb and left us hungering for more.
I’m sure you’re under NDAs and whatnot, but is it possible to send us some hints as to Vampire’s future, say for the next year or two? Is there a chance to see new, original and substantial material with the Onyx Path touch?
The brochure features projects we are working on with just a few surprises, rather than a whole list of approved projects. And it only shows projects we expect will arrive before GenCon 2017.
Vampire: the Requiem is unchanged by the new owners, and in fact we expect that Rose will find that she has new leeway with the line once she submits the upcoming books for approval. As we’ve mentioned before, Rose found it difficult to juggle all of her responsibilities once she added health issues into the mix. She has arranged things now to work better, and VtR is rolling along again.
V20 already has a raft of projects that will come out through August 2017, including Lore of the Bloodlines, the Endless Ages fiction anthology, and Justin Achilli’s vampire card game Prince’s Gambit, which will also be available in book form. Add in the 6 or more projects from the V20 Dark Ages Kickstarter’s Stretch Goals, and it is a busy year for V20. In addition, as we work with the new White Wolf Publishing on the future of Vampire, there are projects being discussed that we just can’t talk about publicly.
1000 Years of Night, Secrets of the Covenants, and Half-Damned are all on the schedule for Requiem and have been since last year. There was a slowdown but production is proceeding, as seen in the Monday Meeting notes.
Likewise, VTM still has Beckett’s Jyhad Diary, the Endless Ages Fiction Anthology, Prince’s Gambit, Lore of the Bloodlines, the V20 Dark Ages Companion, the V20 Dark Ages Quickstart, the V20DA Tome of Secrets, and the V20DA fiction anthology.
The new White Wolf are still finding their footing, so rather than throw a ton of new proposals at them, we’re giving them some time to settle in while we take our own time to fulfill the books we’ve already got on the schedule. It’s not like we don’t have plenty to work on already.
Beautiful news! The past year it seemed like Onyx Path is refocusing away from Vampire – not per se bad, as the new projects are gorgeous and we’ve had great fun with Demon and Dark Eras – but it’s great to hear that the end for Vampire is not in sight! Thank you for sharing.
IS THIS A GEIST 2E BEFORE ME, THE HANDLE TO MY HAND.
this is a thing that I want!
I was excited when I saw the cover of the brochure, only to be disappointed that there wasn’t an Aberrant 2nd Edition, or a revamp of that. I notice there was nods to it in the Trinity write up, but it sounded like all of the slated books take place in the 22nd Century, and do not include the rise of the Novas in current time. Is there plans to return to that?
There will be a new edition of Aberrant. All three games in the Trinity Continuum are getting new editions.
Only two books are listed in the brochure: The Trinity Continuum core rulebook (set in the modern day) and Trinity Continuum: Aeon (set in the 2120s), because those are the first books we’re doing.
