Now available: Blood and Smoke: The Strix Chronicle Condition Cards!
Part of the new Blood & Smoke Chronicle rules, Conditions add an additional layer of consequence and reward to certain actions in the World of Darkness. Various things within the course of a game can cause Conditions. These include exceptional successes, supernatural abilities, and really any situation where the Storyteller thinks they can be used to heighten the drama of a game.
These Blood & Smoke Condition Cards are a handy and elegant way to keep track of and incorporate Conditions into your Chronicle with each of the 44 cards featuring a single Condition.
I’ve been looking forward to these but I must admit I’m curious as to how the physical cards are. Are they laminated? Are there blanks? Are they thicker than standard printer paper?
…And as for the quality of the cards, I just ordered these and the God-Machine Chronicle Condition Cards, so I’ll let you know what they’re like when they arrive. Yeah, I mostly ordered them because I’m curious AND because I have some money in PayPal that’s burning a virtual hole in my virtual pocket…
I’m decently sure, from past experience with DriveThru’s various services, that the quality shall be tip-top.
They’re about the same stock as, for example, Magic: The Gathering cards.
I loves me some good chroniclee cards! I also loves me being a little bit of jackassery at Ian’s expense.
I’m also looking forward to getting those cards!
Oh, and as something USEFUL to add… DriveThruRPG says that there are 44 cards, rather than the 23 Ian’s post says. There ARE 23 in the God-Machine Chronicle pack that DriveThruRPG is offering. I did order both, and I’m expecting those numbers to be solid! And I’m disappointed in Ian making a mistake! I’m also known to be a little ironic when I tell anyone things like the above! You can tell ‘coz I use exclamation points!
…So there you go. 😮
I literally copied the entry from DriveThruRPG. They may have copied it from the GMC entry and fixed it later.
That’s about what I figured. I just posted to help out, and the sarcasm was a free addition?
Nah, you all always do great work, and I’ve nothing but respect for you. Truth.
Ordered 2 sets of each, in preparation for the games I’ll be running at GenCon this year. I’ll share on the card quality once I receive them.
If these do well, which I am sure they will, any thoughts on doing things like Discipline cards?
