Now available for preorder: Trinity Continuum: Assassins for the Trinity Continuum!
Enter the World of Shadow
Trinity Continuum: Assassins transports players to the Continuum’s underworld where well-dressed killers-for-hire use high-tech weapons and gear to eliminate their targets. Assassins join hidden Societies, each unified by their preferred method of doing violence. Their lives are brutal, blood-stained, and glamorous.
The Trinity Continuum Core Rulebook is required to use this book.
Inside you will find:
- Rules for creating Assassins: Trinity Continuum’s stone-cold, stylish killers, and the Societies that house and train them.
- Masteries, all-new powers unique to the Art of the Kill.
- Storyguiding advice for running tense, fast-paced games of intrigue and violence.
- Guidelines for creating setpiece fights, plus dozens of new antagonists for the Assassins to overcome.
We’re going to be uploading manuscript previews here at DriveThruRPG as part of the pre-order process, so you will get an early look at the text as the book is going through the editing and layout process. We’ll upload more chapters of the manuscript every two weeks or so, until the complete text is available for pre-order customers.
We will then upload the Advance PDF version of the complete book at least a week ahead of the general release. Pre-order customers will get the first look at the complete Trinity Continuum: Assassins PDF. At that time we’ll have an errata form available for feedback.

Will it eventually be POD?
We have been doing this for almost a decade, and every product which was capable of being put into print-on-demand has been put into print-on-demand. We’re not changing that practice.
So there won’t be a Kickstarter for Assassins at any point? Any particular reason? Is it just a shorter book?
We can’t Kickstart every book, nor do we want to. So we have to look at what we have room for on our limited KS schedule, what could use the extra PR a KS brings, all sorts of things.
M’kay. PoD only then?
PDF and PoD available on DTRPG, just like most of our books, that’s right.
Out of curiosity, Does the preorder charge immediately or upon release?
Does the preorder process have about the same estimated timeline as a Kickstarter or is this on a shorter timeline from launch to anticipated release?
Just want to give you guys some positive feedback here.
I pre-ordered the Rich Bastard’s Guide because I’d have bought it anyway, but I’ll confess I didn’t feel any benefit to me as the buyer for doing so.
This pre-order, with manuscripts being released and the commitment that buyers will get the book a week (or more) before it goes on general sale, is a massive step up.
I’d be very likely to buy into other pre-orders of meaty supplements under similar conditions in future.
Fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing that, it really does help to hear if one of our decisions works the way we hoped! 🙂 We followed one simple model for pre-orders for Rich Bastard’s, sort of as the control subject, and then expanded more towards what we’ve been doing with Kickstarters for the TC: Assassins pre-order, as you’ve seen.
Cosigned.
Suggestion: talk to paradox? About kickstarting a chronicles of darkness app. I’d much rather use an app for building and managing characters including NPCs, well also being able to reference the rules in it. It’s possible they might be interested in doing world of Darkness too at the same time. Such apps aren’t necessarily going to be cheap to develop, you probably can’t kick start the whole thing. However, they may say that it’s a good place to start and determine whether or not people willing to pay for it.
D&D obviously has D&D beyond now, And I found path builder 2E for Pathfinder is actually pretty good. So in order to compete in the modern market I think this is becoming more necessary.
Paradox announced just that sort of thing for V5 a few weeks ago- we really don’t have any visibility on what they choose to make or not, as they have entire departments handling licensing in all different media. And our license with them is for books, not apps or movies or anything else. We at Onyx Path can and do put our efforts towards similar projects, particularly in the VTT space, for our own game lines like Scion, Trinity Continuum, They Came From…!, etc.
Are demon the descent and beast the primordial going to get second editions? I know there was some “drama” with the lead developer and he is no longer with the company. I absolutely love demon the descent and I really hope it’s not become a dead product line.
Not our call to make, it’s Paradox’s decision whether to OK any projects. Glad you enjoy Demon!
