With everything else going on — the launch of the Changing Breeds Kickstarter, the two meetings, and then the excitement in the Texas legislature — I completely missed out on posting this as I intended.
Yesterday (June 25th) was the 14th anniversary of the release of the Guide to the Technocracy, one of the favourite books in the Mage lexicon.
If you’re a fan of the Union, please don’t forget to check out the Revised Convention Books, a series started in the early 2000s and being continued now!
- Julyish: Convention Book: Syndicate
- Augustish: Convention Book: Void Engineers
reality is fragile, even 14 years later. Happy and estatic birthday!
Aye, happy 14th Mage!
Always been my favourite side in all of WoD. In fact, part of me has always considered the Technocracy a better faction than the Traditions in Mage; Techs are certainly far from angelic (just look at the Syndicate! [lol]), but the Traditions always seemed so selfish and a bit childish in many ways compared to them, especially given the history mentioned in the prologue of the Revised book.
Having heard M20 will include the system for Technocrat characters; I’m really looking forward to seeing what Phil Brucato et al make of them. 🙂
Happy birthday technies!
Mage was one of my favorite games of all times, because i thought it was more than a game (in a good sense 😉 ) and technocracy are one of the most compelling factions ever created on white-wolf! waiting eagery for M20 and the convention books!
Wop, happy birthday! 😀
Hi everyone.
I agree with vjj, defintely, the Iteration X is outdated, however, I do not think that the answer to this to be “revise” the Iteration X book but to create a new (and possibly even more books in the future as the technology advance) technocracy´s toybox books instead. It would even serve to the purpose of updating not only Iteration X technology but all the conventions “arsenal” (even new psychological methods and statistics techniques, etc.)
I apologize for my english, I know this not the best.
How about an update to the Iteration X book (2.0) as a stretch goal for the upcoming Mage20 KS? Seems like the perfect time to do it.
The thing is, we did the new Convention Books specifically because Iteration X stood by itself. If we release a revised revised edition, we have the same problem.
There are no plans to any more CBs once the current run is complete.
