Here we are in the first week of August, although most of us here at Onyx Path Central feel like July was just an eyeblink long! With a whole bunch of our crew bopping in and out on vacations between crowdfunders, this is probably going to be a shorter than usual MMN Blog, but there’s plenty to see down in the Progress Reports.
We’re looking to update the Discord Dice Rolling App, so hang on for that process to be worked through, as well as having an outside computer expert take a look at whether we can do something to make it less likely for folks to lag when getting onto our website, including these blogs and the forums.
Like I mentioned last week, we’re aiming to get the Monster Kingdoms crowdfunding campaign started this month if at all possible, as October should bring us the Kickstarter for the Curseborne PG: Toil and Trouble. Expect some fun teasers these next two months, and probably a few more of these:
Which means that there’s a lot of behind the scenes activity as we pull those campaigns together!
We’re also working with our screen printer in Canada and Studio2 (once they are back from GenCon) to start shipping Scion: God and TC: Aether out to backers as soon as we can get the Screens in. We had to pay something extra on our bill for those books, but we are still waiting to hear if that amount was all the tariffs for those books or if we’ll be receiving a bill from the feds. (We know we’ll be paying more for the Screens, so…)
Strangely enough, we’re not running any sales for our stuff right now, so I won’t be able to list those this week.
But going on sale this Weds is Exalted Abyssals, which is certainly an August Occasion – especially if you didn’t back the crowdfunder and have been waiting to pick it up from DTRPG!

Last week Aegis Studios released Scarred Lands Creature Profiles: Forge Wight by Matthew Dawkins and Travis Legge for Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (or SWADE, if you prefer acronyms)! The Forge Wight is the latest in a series of monthly releases focusing on bringing the creatures of Scarred Lands into Pinnacle Entertainment Group’s Savage Worlds system. Each of these creatures is presented with full game traits, history, and a collection of plot hooks to allow you to drop them directly into your game!
In addition to the Creature Profiles, Aegis Studios has released Gauntlet of Spiragos (SWADE) and Dagger of Spiragos (SWADE) both in PDF and print on demand via DriveThruRPG! These enhanced adventures contain Savage Worlds versions of the beloved Spiragos campaign, in which the heroes must prevent titanic relics from being used to resurrect a lesser titan! Beyond the adventure material, each book offers new NPCs and creatures, expanded setting information that allows you to bring the Scarred Lands to life through languages, locations, ancestries, and culture packages, and a set of ready-made characters you can play throughout the campaign!
The third and final installment, Ring of Spiragos (SWADE) is currently in development and will include the final chapter of the Spiragos saga, more new ancestries, locations, and cultural packages, and over 60 new creatures and NPCS! The advanced PDF will be available soon!
After the Spiragos trilogy, Aegis Studios will begin working toward the Scarred Lands Player’s Guide (SWADE) crowdfunding campaign, which will bring material from across the world of Scarn and throughout the history of the Scarred Lands to your table! We’re aiming to have this campaign ready to go before the year’s end, so keep an eye on this space for news and updates!
And here’s a note from Kim Godwin giving us the lowdown on her World Below game she ran over the weekend:
I just wanted to follow up on how the game night went with the World Below “Song from the Depths” scenario at the Asakusa Infinity Game night with the Tokyo Roeplaying Society in Asakusa, Japan.
I had a fine bunch of delvers, 2 of which had never played a ttrpg before, 2 that were brand new to the World Below and Storypath Ultra (one is a dedicated Exalted 3rd edition fan) and 1 player who was in my Curseborne game at Kaijucon. Everyone had a blast exploring the mysterious cavern and leaping head first (literally) into the unknown to locate and rescue the missing 3 children. Romance bubbled up between our Darv Hunter and our Entissa Holy, who’s creative application of the word of Judgement became the “power of love” to guide the Hunter’s blade true. They were about to deal fatal blows to the fungal undead surrounding one of the lost children when time was called.
They appreciated how streamlined and open the gameplay was, allowing them to decide on their approaches to any given situation to solve their problems. They enjoyed the map and note they needed to decode. We played for 4 hours so they munched on the rock candy gems I brought along for the adventure. They want to keep playing so we’ll see if my schedule can balance out to run more Earthbane Cycle here in Japan.
