A Sad Week

Project Status

  • Not a lot of movement overall last week, due to CCP layoffs and internal reorganization.
  • Rich is going to try and get Dust to Dust laid out this week.
  • Ethan is going to take over the Geist 1.1 development.
  • Other pieces are moving forward again.
Meeting Notes
  • Rich suggests that we record the meeting, since there’s a lot going on. I agree, and after a few false starts, we get a recording going. (You can listen to it over at the blogcast: http://belialsbrood.com/?p=70)
  • We both talk about the stress of watching our friends lose their jobs, and the post-traumatic stress of such an event.
  • However, White Wolf will go on. These are more of the “growing pains” we talked about at GenCon/Grand Masquerade.
  • Rich and I were both chased by zombies this weekend. His was much more interesting, and I’m the one who ended up with a twisted ankle. But there are some interesting level design lessons to learn from both of them.
  • Rich waxes poetic about Kelley’s tireless work in helping folks to find jobs, as well as the community’s help and support during a rough time.
Today’s Reason to Drink: Last Wednesday, 20% of CCP was laid off, primarily from the Atlanta office. That has been plenty enough reason to drink recently.

  1. Man, I still can’t believe it. I learned about this yesterday and I’m still shocked. My thought are with those who had to leave, and I know I’ll get so see their names in new products in the future and that’ll be a sign that this is a good product. Don’t give up guys, you kick butts.

  2. I almost spat coke on my keybpard at work listening to that blogcast when my name was suddenly addressed directly. I narrowly managed to avoid ruining company equipment, thanks guys! 😛
