Fast Meeting

Meeting Notes

  • We only had time for a quick half-hour meeting this week, so we quickly hit the high points.
  • We’re set for GenCon. I need to get my badge, though.
  • Justin reached out to me to do some writing on Children of the Revolution, which I’ve started on.
  • Victorian Lost first draft layout for review (although we’re still missing some final art).
  • Rich’s computer acting crazy — spent several hours trying to get it to work right. Still not right, so he’s focusing on V20 Companion right now.
  • We talked a bit about the backer “Thank You” pages.
  • Falling Scales #2 is starting to come together.
  • Rich is reaching out to artists for Blood Sorcery and Children of the Revolution.

Today’s Reason to Drink: I’ve got too much going on to drink!

  1. And how about the 2012-2013 schedule? Any VtR book or SAS planned after Blood Sorcery (2012) and before Secrets of the Covenants (2013)?

  2. Funny, I was JUST wondering about GEN CON. Eddy, any specifics as far as that goes? Will the wrecking crew be there? What games, if any, will be demo’d?

  3. Speaking of art….Have you looked at the at the Alice: Madness Returns artbook for inspiration for the artwork of Victorian Age Lost?

    • My original presumption is that they would stick with the “big 3” when it comes to the 20th anniversary treatment. But, to be honest, if the kickstarter projects continue to be successful, then why not Wraith, or Changeling, or whatever? If people want to see them and are willing to back the project, there’s no reason not to do it.

      • It seems as though they are already working like crazy on their current projects. If they try to go outside of the Big Three for the Onyx Path, they may find themselves spread too thin. And if the new model does provide the resources for growth, I would much prefer if they got back into fiction.

        • I don’t really see how they would be spread too thin, primarily because it seems as though rather than say “Lets make this book and see if it sells”, they are making what they already know that there is a demand for. If it appears as though there is a demand for even more V20 products, then I’m sure that is what they will do. The great thing about kickstarter, though, is that if you don’t raise the funds you need then you just don’t move forward with the project and you’re no worse for wear. With V20 companion, they already knew that they were going to make a PDF version and a PoD version regardless of the outcome of the kickstarter. But with something like Wraith, they could say: “Raise $25,000 and we’ll do a PDF and PoD soft-cover version, raise $50,000 and we’ll do a deluxe version” etc. If they fail to raise $25,000, then no Wraith.

          • Although I should qualify that post by saying that, in a scenario like the one I suggested, there would be a much longer period of time between the funding of the project and its complete (they were already compiling the V20 companion prior to the kickstarter project). I don’t really see a problem with this, as I think that people will be willing to wait for a product that they really want.

        • Well, keep in mind that the 20th anniversary for Changeling or Wraith is a few years out still. 😛 2014 for Wraith, 2015 for Changeling, 2019 for Hunter, and 2022 for Demon
