  1. Oh my! This post led me to the Free RPG Day site, which in turn pointed me towards a game shop in my neighborhood that I did not even know existed! I’m heading over there right after work to pick up my Mage 20 Quickstart AND buy some Magic cards! I am happy!!!

…Um, I’ve also run out of exclamation points, so I’ll end this with a question mark? o.O

  2. Sadly no retailers in my area, but hope others enjoy the day! πŸ™‚ And thank you for the sheet by the way Ian, been looking forward to some M20 stuff for ages. Was surprised that the sheet differed in ways from the other 20ths (Technology as a skill, an ‘art’ talent); assume there are reasons to do with the game’s style? Looks good though; hats off to the maker!

But anyhow, thanks again, and enjoy the day yourselves too.

  3. Happy Free RPG Day! I hope you guys run out of Free MAGE 20 Quickstart books (meaning it was very popular).

When can we expect the MAGE 20 Quickstart PDF to appear on DriveThruRPG.com?

  4. The local game shop pointed out by the locator didn’t have anything posted about free RPG day, but when asked, they had the Mage20 Quickstart among other free games.

  5. Ran the scenario today. I used the big show option and had the PCs attempt to find a place to run a major fire show on short notice. They decided to do a “phoenix” act and have one of themselves appear to immolate and then pop back up.

To do this they bought the body of a recently dead homeless man, transformed it to be a mimic of one of the PCs, and stored it inside the cement floor of the warehouse were the act was to occur. When the Technocrat “Big Ron” crashed their show they used the finale (which involved lifting the body to the ceiling after cutting the lights and setting off pyrotechnics planted around the warehouse) as cover to shot Ron to death before running away (with all of the money from the door fees) before the police (or other Technocrats) could show.

None of them had ever played Mage before but they all loved it and got what they wanted from it. Excellent game; looking forward to the full book.

  8. …Sadly, my closest game shop had the Mage Quickstart ‘on order’ and by the time I was able to get to my next-nearest one, they’d run out of the book. Ah well, I still bought some goodies from both places, and I’m happy that I participated, or tried to do?
