Been a little while since the last post. You’ll have to forgive me, the holidays and end of the year rush to get stuff out pretty much consumed my November and December. For the first post of the new year, I’m going to be showing one of the fulls for the upcoming Dark Ages: Darkening Skies as illustrated by Vince Locke. Vince has actually been illustrating World of Darkness books for almost 20 years now and worked on both Vampire the Dark Ages and Dark Ages Vampire (not to mention doing a fair chunk of art for the new Demon too).
For Darkening Skies, Vince is joined by veteran Dark Age artists Andrew Trabbold (DA Mage), Alex Sheikman (DA Inquisitor), Brian Leblanc (DA Werewolf), Rik Martin (DA Vampire), and Jeff Laubenstein (DA Fae).
Until next time,
Mike C.
Q: is Alex Sheikman the same artist that released a self-published (IIRC) comic called Moonshadow?
Nice art!
Oh, and the more Brian Leblanc the better! He’s easily my favorite CWOD artist.
Might be…although I’m only familiar with his work on Robotika
I hope that Vince Locke will play a central part in the art of Dark Ages 20th. His art was absolutely defining to Vampire the Dark Ages (especially the supplements) and really brought the tone, characters and setting to life.
That’s my plan. Guys like Vince Locke and Guy Davis were a large part of Dark Ages in both of it’s incarnations, so not having them on DA20 would be almost blasphemous.
Guy Davis would be my personal absolute second to Locke. Having those two to help redefine the Dark Ages setting and denizens would be an absolute dream come true! The two of them really capture a modern Dore lithograph style that seems to ooze medieval darkness.
Any chance that Guy Davis might do the clan pieces? Guy Davis’ clan art for Victorian Age Vampire, the Guide to the Sabbat, and Ghouls Fatal Addictions were absolutely stunning.
