Now Available: Scion Car Competition, plus Mummy ST Screen

Now available in PDF: Storypath Tasty Bit: Car Competition for Scion 2nd Edition!

Automobiles are entrenched in The World’s culture, and they’ve changed travel forever. The Gods are not immune to the changing culture, and many Scions have incorporated it into their legends, pushing themselves to interact creatively with vehicles. The Scions of Hephaestus had a particular attraction to vehicles, often modifying them beyond the human capability for speed or maneuverability.

These and other interested Scions often come together for competitions and test racing or craftmanship. Car culture is so popular with certain Scions that they developed a game based on them. The game is sometimes called “The Autocracy,” which a few Scions think is a hilarious pun, while others consider the joke to be in poor taste. Most just call it “the competition.”

The competition consists of multiple ways for Scions to play with vehicles when they are together and an opportunity to tell legendary tales of their feats. Powerlift a car in the middle of a battle and use it like a baseball bat? Throw a truck a mile to take out an enemy running away? Did you trick out a motorcycle to make it a Relic? How are those driving skills?

All of these are ways in which Scions try to outdo each other. Some prefer the heat of battle for their moment of glory, some choose to express themselves through nuanced storytelling in their cars’ design, others weave tales of impressive feats or clever uses of vehicles, and still others hone their skills of repairing or modifying the internal machines and external bodywork. Creativity, originality, and innovation are the central ideas of the competition.

This PDF is part of the “Storypath Tasty Bits” program, where every month in 2021 Onyx Path offers a small product that ties into one of its Storypath games.

I wield the might of gods, the powers of the elements, control over the living and the dead, and yet I cannot tell you my name. It is unknown to me, in a darkened corner of my memory, and I do not know when illumination shall reach me.

The PDF Storytellers Screen for the Mummy: The Curse 2nd Edition roleplaying game, a Chronicles of Darkness RPG, provides a collection charts and other info to make the Storyteller’s role a little bit easier.
