We Deal in the Truth.
Every interaction, every fight, every clandestine meeting, it’s all about the truth. The truth hurts. The truth kills. But in the end, the truth protects. The truth shapes the world. Shape the world with us.
The Tal’Mahe’Ra, the Black Hand, plays the long game. They’re fighting a war of millennia, and the stakes could never be higher than they are tonight. They know truths about the Ancients, terrifying truths, dangerous truths, and they know the fight will be long and tireless.
The Black Hand — A Guide to the Tal’Mahe’Ra includes:
- An updated look at the Tal’Mahe’Ra, which brings the ancient conspiracy into the twenty-first century.
- Tricks of the Black Hand’s trade, including new Disciplines, Backgrounds, Merits, and eldritch sorceries.
- Insight into some of the Hand’s sects, including those who hunt the infernal, and the worshippers of Lilith.

Will this address what happened to their headquarters with the spirit nuke?
$19.99
The intro says the book operates on the assumption the spirit nuke didn’t happen.
Makes sense in the metaplot agnostic V20 line.
Where should we leave comments about bugs, spelling etc?
In the forums in a few minutes when the official errata thread gets put up there. 😉
I have to say that I’ve only been able to peek at the pdf so far because of work obligations but it looks fantastic. I haven’t been this excited about a new Vampire book in a while, but this has actually reignited some of that old fire.
Seeing a whole chapter on cults to Lilith fills me with joy. Thank you for putting this book out. I am totally stoked about it.
When will the physical copies be available to purchase?
From our FAQ page:
Our current model goes as follows: We release an “advance PDF.” Our fans report any errors they find. We collect these and update our files. From these files we create a final release PDF and the printer files. We request a proof to ensure the book looks as it should. If everything’s okay, the final PDF is uploaded and the PoD option enabled. The entire process takes typically takes between two to six weeks.
Noticed info on the Black Hand revenant families are missing what gives?
I’m not in any way associated with OP so this is just supposition… But I assume that they were moved to the imminent V20 Ghouls book so the info players might need on them is alongside all the other Revenant families.
I’m sure someone will be along soon to correct me if that’s not the case.
well since the Hand Ghoul families are a major part of the organization, they would at least get a few pages of write up.
The intro chapter definitely suggests they were supposed to have rules in chapter one. I assume that changed during development but that line didn’t get taken out of the draft.
Again, all assumptions but I would think it was decided it would make sense to fold them into the Ghouls book to make that a complete guide to that character type. For my money I’d call that the correct decision as it would be weird for Ghouls to cover all the other revenant families except the ones associated with the Black Hand. It would also be a redundant use of page count to splat them out across two books released so close together.
I’m pretty okay with the TalMaheRa book focusing on the Kindred and the gonzo stuff, and the revenants being in the Ghouls book to make that as one stop as it can be for ghoul characters.
I’ve only read into the first 60 pages or so tonight, but “Guide to the Tal’Mahe’Ra” is already a deeper and more rewarding read than I expected. I’m loving the decision to pick up where “Chaining the Beast” left off, with the fleshing out of Via Hyron in a way that makes sense of the different versions of the Baali from different editions of the game.
The ONE thing that I didn’t like was the complete lack of info on the Black Hand ghoul families in anything other than a ‘sideways’ sorta way… But what would a book about the Tal’mahe’Ra BE without at least ONE glaring omission?
…On the other hand, there is a LOT that I straight up LOVE about this book! It’s a wonderful addition to the V20 line and to Vampire: the Masquerade as a whole.
