…and to pledge for your own copy of the Trinity Continuum: Adventure! beautiful hardcover book!
We’re down to the last couple of days, the last few dozen hours even, with a couple of super Stretch Goals including this one:
Exploring Alternate Timelines! – Discussion and guidance on the timelines created by Max Mercer each time he tried to change the future and how to play in some of them will be added to the Trinity Continuum: Adventure! Companion PDF.
What’s exciting about this Stretch goal is that this is where we use the underlying storyline of the Trinity of game lines so far and mix it into the core concept of this whole Continuum – the idea that our Trinity Continuum worlds/settings may or may not be a single timeline depending on your needs at your table.
Max Mercer travels through time. He could be traveling along a single line through time. Or, the overall setting itself suggests, he is bouncing from timeline to timeline, from parallel dimension to parallel dimension, attempting to do the right things to create the greatest positive results for humanity.
This can be as simple or as complex as your games require. And any of the Trinity Continuum games can be a part of your conception of how the Continuum works.
Which brings us to what is happening with this TC: Adventure! Kickstarter.
This is the last of the original Trinity game lines to be brought from their original edition into the Trinity Continuum editions. It was important to us to deliver those original beloved settings to all of you who loved them. From here on in, the new main books will be delivering new settings in the Continuum.
We’ve made some suggestions about some new settings like the far future past TC: Aeon, or the ancient world way before TC: Adventure!. We’ve announced TC: Assassins, the dark mirror to the Trinity Continuum Core setting, and TC: Anima, a setting between TC: Aberrant and TC: Aeon that features both a dystopian “cyber-punk” genre exploration, but also an entirely different way to play as you venture into the world’s most popular MMO virtual fantasy genre gaming experience.
You can even gather clues to possible new TC settings/eras from references in the existing books. In fact, the optional upgrade to powers contained within TC: Adventure! suggests that – if you want to – you could choose to start bringing your pulp characters towards the beginnings of the comic books of the 1940s and 50s.
Is that a TC: Adventure! supplement? A TC: Aberrant historical supplement? A whole new TC game line? Something we’ll open up to creators on the Storypath Nexus?
Well…
Time will tell….
😉
Meanwhile, it IS time for folks to get out there to back and spread the word about the Trinity Continuum: Adventure! Kickstarter! Let’s end this one with those time-traveling Max Mercer options and beyond, and start exploring the amazing possibilities of a limitless Continuum of game worlds!
A Whole Lotta Meeting Goin’ On!
As always, these are all topics we talked about during the Monday Lunch Meeting today:
If you missed it last Wednesday, we have a revised edition of the Storypath Core Rules PDF up on DTRPG!
Eddy made a bunch of changes to the original doc to bring it more in line with the Storypath System as it has evolved this past few years, and it could be really helpful to provide to new players just getting started with the system.
If you downloaded it previous to the revision, you should be able to re-download it by going to your DTRPG Library and clicking on the old version.
If you are a Pugmire fan, keep an eye out for the Squeaks in the Deep playtests that Eddy is doing on various venues like Twitch! This book brings in the mice and rats to the world of Pugmire, and not surprisingly a whole lot of dungeon exploration is a big part of their world!
Right now, our next crowd-funding project will be either Squeaks in the Deep or Exalted Essence, so catching one of Eddy’s playtests might be a great preamble to the campaign on Kickstarter or wherever.
A very nice article on Screen Rant lists two of our games as the sorts of TTRPGs that Neil Gaiman fans would enjoy, which was extremely nice of them to say:
https://screenrant.com/tabletop-rpg-games-like-neil-gaiman-sandman-coraline/
We have another multi-site sale going on; the Spring Changeling Sale for both of our Changeling lines (Dreaming and Lost) at DTRPG, IPR, and at Studio2. Links below in the Sales Partners section!
Another bit of sales news is that the traditionally printed versions of They Came From Beneath the Sea! and the Scarred Lands 5e Creature Collection are now available for sale at your Friendly Local Game Store!
With Covid vaccinations happening to a greater number of folks, and with restrictions being lifted in many localities, here’s hoping that our FLGSs can once again be hubs for playing and learning TTRPGs. And for buying these books we’re sending them!
If you are heading into your favorite stores and they don’t carry these books, please let them know you want them, and that they can contact their distributor and Studio2 to get ’em.
Finally, our intrepid and entertaining terribly terrific Trio on the Onyx Pathcast are entering their 4th year of wacky chatter, in-depth deep dives of games and gaming, farty horns, Actual Plays, bears dropped onto orcs during movie reviews, interviews with both seasoned and up and coming creators in the TTRPG scene, and generally a rollickin’ good time every Friday!
They are, of course, Dixie Cochran, Matthew Dawkins, and the irrepressible Eddy Webb (as the Beaver). While they may disagree, they are never disagreeable, and now is a great time to jump in to listening to the OnyxPathcast.
This is because the Trio did a “restart” last Friday where they re-introduced themselves, explained the origins of the Pathcast, and the extreme amount of freedom they have to pick topics and then go after every iota of fun within those topics each week. (I mean, what was I thinking letting them run riot for three full years?)
I can think of no finer group of folks to be your guides to all the sorts of entertainment topics they cover during a show, not to mention highlighting our:
Many Worlds, One Path!

Virtual TableTop!
Two Virtual Tabletop adventures: the Gauntlet of Spiragos and the Dagger of Spiragos for Scarred Lands on Astral TableTop and DriveThruRPG!
Scars of the Divine War, which ended less than 200 years ago, have still not healed. One such scar is the Chasm of Flies, a rent in the earth created when the titan Spiragos the Ambusher was smote down by one of the young gods, Vangal the Ravager. Now, the Chasm is inhabited by spider-eye goblins and their spider allies, but it is also thought to be the resting place of powerful artifacts from that elder age.
Astral TableTop is the easiest way to play any tabletop RPG online, free. Astral already supports popular systems like D&D and Pathfinder, and Astral can support virtually any tabletop roleplaying game. Get started quickly with built-in support for most popular game systems. Whether you’re brand new to TTRPGs or a veteran tabletop gamer, Astral‘s ease-of-use and built in automation is designed to streamline gameplay.

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
Two items today: It is the delightful Tim Curry’s birthday today! Everyone has their favorite Tim role, but in connection with our TC: Adventure! KS, I suggest his role as dupe Farley Claymore in the 1994 film version of The Shadow. Rarely has such a putz been portrayed by such a cool actor! Then, it took blood, sweat, and tears, to get it out to everyone, but Exalted 3rd Edition was released five years ago tomorrow! WOW!
As excited as I am for Squeaks in the Deep (And believe you me, I’m EXCITED) we got proper new Realms content far more recently than anything for Exalted. To whom must I kowtow to sway things towards Essence next?
Doesn’t work like that, and every line is different. We’ll have to see what next week brings us.
Exalted Essence is a far more complex book than Squeaks in the Deep. Plus, Exalted is owned by Paradox, which means we have the additional layer of working with an external partner. I’m actually really excited for Essence as well, so it’s not because we don’t want to feature it. We just want to make sure Exalted Essence is the best it can possibly be!
I went from skeptic to unreasonably excited for Essence, but at the end of the day I just desperately want anything new for Exalted, whether that’s Essence or any of the projects that stalled out in 2020. Lotta days it seems like since W20 released the curse has latched on to a new victim.
Whichever comes first, Squeaks or Essence, I’ll be backing both with gusto. And I’m not forgetting to add on the bloody screen this time. ? Tangentially, any idea when the Pirates screen will hit IPR?
I liked him as Hexxus on Ferngully
The Devil in Legend has to be one of my favorite Tim Curry roles. There are typically devils that are portrayed as just plain evil jerks, but his devil had serious depth: seductive, corruptive, intelligent, and powerful. Great character for a great actor.
Absolutely. Best part of the film IMO.
You can judge a person pretty well by which Tim Curry character they reference first. I’ve always loved him as Darkness from Legend. Tim Curry at his best.
I almost feel like it’s Frankie, then Darkness, then soooo many great characters – in terms of how widespread folks know of his work. Maybe It is up there near the top, too.
I wonder what it says about me that the first role that comes to my mind is Wadsworth from Clue.
Clue was hilarious.
Agreed, and that film was my introduction to Tim Curry. He makes almost every scene he is in better no matter the role, but his take on Cardinal Richelieu was as delicious as cake!
Oh yes. Richelieu is right up at the top for me, maybe right after Frank.
Dr. Anton Sevarius in Gargoyles and Glorious Godfrey/G. Gordon Godfrey in Young Justice.
And of course Auntie Whispers in Over the Garden Wall.
Everybody has a fave, although that one I’ll need to go find a clip of now! 🙂
I must be missing something, because I can’t find any document called “Storypath Core Rules” on DTRPG. Could you please provide a link to it?
https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/353047/Storypath-System-Preview-2021
Thanks!
I second SamuraiMujuru’s sentiment. Another vote for Exalted Essence next, please.
Votes ain’t gonna make anything change. It’s not like we don’t know that folks want some Essence. It’s all about what is ready when.
Sorry, I meant it more as a joke on the previous poster’s wording. Just super interested to see the new Exalt types! Plus, it sound like the perfect way to wrangle my D&D group in Exalted.
No worries! It’s just a process thing at this point when it comes to getting the next KS up, so I don’t want folks thinking its a popularity thing.
While I am excited for Essence, I fully admit to having a weakness for the Order Rodentia ever since I started collecting Skaven in middle school. I am deeply curious on what other animals are up to. Esp. badgers.
Did you know?
https://twitter.com/VonAether/status/1316521668798365697
Someone beat me to Horned rat joke, lol.
Pretty sure the book is focused on rats and mice, but who knows whether badgers could show up in there – or in a Stretch Goal during the KS?!
Yeah, Squeaks in the Deep specifically will focus on mice and rats. Not sure if I’ll get to badgers, but as Rich says, maybe a stretch goal!
You say Skaven, I say Slitheren. Let’s call the whole thing off.
Much appreciated!
Everytime I see the name for “Squeeks in the Deep” I just find myself thinking:
“The Dachshunds dug too far, they awoke something they should not have. Something better left sleeping.
Squeeks. Squeeks in the deep!”
I’d like to give you one social-media type thumbs up for this comment.
I thought the same thing when Eddy proposed the title! It’s pretty evocative.
“You can even gather clues to possible new TC settings/eras from references in the existing books.
Well…
Time will tell….”
Do you want the Trinity Discord to get into discussions that last for days about theories involving the possible new games/eras? Because that is how you get the Trinity Discord to get into discussions that last for days about theories involving the possible new games/eras, Rich.
This is on your head!
lol
Love our Discord communities, and I know they always need fresh topics – so I’m just trying to help out! 🙂
“If you missed it last Wednesday, we have a revised edition of the Storypath Core Rules PDF up on DTRPG!”
Can you please provide a link to this? I can only find the System Preview (2021) posted back on the 7th-ish. Thanks!
Please see Ian’s response to Madam Mirror above for the link.
Jonathan,
My apologies I did not look closely enough at the responses and mentioned the wrong one. You want the link in SamuraiMujuru’s response to wologimbat’s post.
Thanks!
(My link was still pretty good tho)
It was a winner, indeed!
Thank you, ThomasM!
Fun Tim Curry fact: In the first live-action Scooby-Doo movie, they offered him the role eventually played by Rowan Atkinson because Tim is actually a huge Scooby-Doo fan. But he turned it down on principle when he found out (spoiler for a 19-year old movie) that Scrappy-Doo is in it.
I really, really hope Exalted Essence is next. I’ve been dying for it since it was announced.
