Scheduling Jenga

Meeting Notes

  • I’m deep into my vacation, which means writing, LARPing, and playing video games.
  • Rich is still evolving his workspace. Part of this evolution seems to involve a brief power outage, and I lose Rich for a bit.
  • Once he’s back, I tell Rich about my nWoD short story that I’m working on. It involves bugs.
  • Rich’s friend who helps him with his network support lives in the mushroom capital of the world.
  • We talk about our personal schedules for GenCon, and the usual scheduling Jenga that results.
  • Rich is on a panel about editors, which I find amusing.
  • We talk about Warren Buffet.
  • There’s a lot of back-end stuff that ties into the announcement next week, which takes a decent chunk of the call.
  • During the call, Ian sends me this: https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23FakeWWTeaser
  • There’s a number of books waiting to be approved after vacation, and Shards for Exalted is in the final steps before going live.

Today’s Reason to Drink: On July 9th, 1850, the Persian prophet Báb was executed in Tabriz.

    • I ended up not playing as many games as I wanted. I got some time on Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger on my iPad, as well as finishing Broken Sword on my PC. Also, a lot of Magic 2013.

  1. …So, when you say “final steps before going live,” does that mean Shards tomorrow or Shards Wednesday?

Or are we going to have to wait another couple of weeks?

  2. Mmmmmm Gen Con! I’m already scheduling my work hours around the panel discussions.
Other than the panels and that, what else is planned? Artists/authors at the booth? Any demo games, or advanced games? Wrecking Crew?
Also, Congrats on your booth placement right in front of the doors!

Looking forward to the 7/15 announcement too.

    • The booth activities are being handled by DriveThruRPG, not us. GenCon is just going to be Rich and me this year. I don’t believe the Wrecking Crew is attending, but I’m not sure.

      • I hope you guys can at least have a proof of the W20 book (or an iPad with some pages thus far created in PDF) at the booth like you had for the V20.

It is odd to me that none of your events show up as White Wolf events in the schedule (at least when I search for the events. If there was/is a form field to include that, it would be helpful for folks trying to find your events via online/apps/booklet.

My hope for you (and us) is that with this year’s Gen Con numbers/pre-reg already looking like it will be the biggest year for the convention ever, that this means that the TTRPG slump is finally over and you guys can start not only making more product, but running demos and offering other things at Gen Con again. 🙂
