      • Red Talon is another possibility. Why?

Red Talons gained the notoriety of being omen-tellers of doom in the newer Dark Ages: Werewolf (Aka the hardcover version). So Blackpaw would be the opposite of that.

Also, that stereotypes section for the Ajaba? Badass. Read the one for the Mokole. It’s awesome.

I have a bone to pick with Tellus though. And I feel another reason is because you guys didn’t have enough room for print other than bring up the old cliché of violent video games. The only things really updated there was “camera toys” (outdated) and online violent video games (outdated). There are so many ways nowadays for an evil video game company to be evil without the ol’ specter of violent video games of 90’s past.
Remember the developers and industry likes to call us paying customers “Pirates” now for wanting to buy old used games. You don’t see big box book stores calling their customers, “thieves”, for shopping at a used book store, do you?
And all the ways to rip off and frustrate a video game customer! That extra stuff locked on disc (Hello Capcom)? You have to pay for that! Also, no mention of the Wii and it’s tons upon tons of shovelware? Also, buying up and then killing beloved franchises the EA way! Don’t forget the real story of bloody conflict in the Congo caused over Coltan: A rare material used in the manufacturing of PS2s and phones.

Also no App games (Angry Wolves)?
Hopefully, this stuff will be in Book of the Wyrm 20th.
Also, I want to see, “My Little Wolves: Violence is Fun”. Or Thoseguyswithmonocles.com, that has “Knifey”, who makes online video reviews of Black Dog Products and other RPGs to rant about. “Knifey” is also a Black Spiral Dancer or BSD Kinfolk.

        • Be plenty of room for all that in the new Book of the Wyrm I’d reckon.

(But again guys, please don’t waste too much space on Black Dog, what was in the core was about perfect.)

  1. To the people who worked on W20:

A heartfelt thank you. I have not been able to read it all, but even a glimpse glimpse has shown me that I will adore this book. There seems to be answers and clarification about things that needed it and when I saw that the section about the moots was separated by tribes I was absolutely overjoyed.

Thanks for all the hard work. I can’t wait to read it all.

  2. Like I said on the Kickstarter page: It’s like having Halloween, Christmas, my birthday, and everything good and pure in the world rolled into one.

The book is awesome. Great work.

Also, my birthday is in late, late March. And it’s on Easter. Coincidence?

  3. Hallelujah! Took me almost 3h to just quickly peruse through the book.

I’d say it was definitely worth the wait despite a few missed subjects here and there because of lack of space (I think) and 3 minor spelling errors and 2 broken quick reference links in the PDF that I noticed.

    • When all the backer names are right and the typos and such that they’ve noticed have been worked up. Once that’s done, Rich needs to check a print proof, so print orders can go live at the same time.

Rich would have a better estimate, I’d say probably a couple of weeks but that’s a halfway-educated guess.

  4. Hey guys!

Love the new book, great artwork, wonderfully written!
But I have a problem with a few revised combat rules:
    – why would you ever use a claw attack when a bite attack does the same amount of damage (even more in hispo) and has a diff of 5 instead of 6. Why not let a claw attack be str+2?
    – a knife has become one of the most dangerous weapons in the arsenal with a diff of 4?!! And str + 1 ….

Just my two cents … 🙂

    • Bite attacks are often faced with potentially dangerous consequences that either don’t exist for claw attacks or have far less of an impact in that case. Fomori with acidic pustules, for example, or Ratkin, who, one and all, have poisonous blood.

As for the weapon stats, I got nothin’. I wasn’t expecting the chainsaw or big two-handed weapons to be so… severe, myself.

  5. G’day Stew, can’t wait to get my hands on the book, I have every faith that it will be several shades of every kind of awesome with you at the helm. Just wondering, since I missed the kickstarter campaign, will it still possible to get my hands on the heavy metal edition or deluxe edition through drivethrurpg?
    Cheers,
Rob (Taliesin_SB / BrettDanger from the ooooooold werewolf forums).

    • Blast from the past!

I’m afraid that the Deluxe and Heavy Metal Editions are exclusive to the Kickstarter — we use the Kickstarter to work out how many copies of each to print in a single one-off print run.

I’m sure that the PoD copies available through DriveThruRPG will still rock — V20’s two volume colour hardback is a thing of beauty.

    • You start backing a KS when it’s up for starting. Before CB, there is at least Exalted 3rd Edition to go through in that regard. There will be a 24-hour notice posted on the main WW blog and various places on the internet. It’s worth noting that no matter when you pledge, nothing changes hands until the very end of the run.

The next 20th anniversary edition is Mage. There may be a Wraith the following year (I think it’s based on how well the previous one went, but am not certain that this is the be-all, end-all factor), and there may be a Changeling after that, but as you can see from visiting the main WW blog, they have an awful lot on their plate, and as I just mentioned, any potential C20 would be coming out in 2015, which is a long way off from the present of 2013.

    • CB20 is in a final edit pass; when it is Kickstarted we won’t be quiet about it. Changeling20 depends on Wraith20 which depends on Mage20 — not necessarily the amount raised, but the number of backers and the degree of enthusiasm for the game. Personally, I really want to see Wr20 and C20, but until Mage20 is done we can’t promise anything.

All the Kickstarters we do will be publicised on the White Wolf Forums, on RPG.net, on Twitter/Facebook/Google+, and on the main whitewolfblogs.com blog. I’ll also post about any Werewolf-specific ones on this blog.

    • If you backed the W20 Kickstarter and haven’t yet got your link for the backer PDF, please get in touch with Rich Thomas through the Kickstarter page.

Physical copies haven’t shipped yet; we’re incorporating updates and corrections from the pre-release backer PDF before sending things out.
