Realms of Pugmire creator Eddy Webb is showing up on Extra Credits this week: the first show already aired today, and there’s another appearance/interview/wackiness on Thursday at 2pm Eastern US time as he joins the Design Club. This looks like it’ll be a great chance to really delve into how Eddy has developed this Second Edition of Pugmire.

After these appearances live on Twitch, the Extra Credits gang will then release the programs on their YouTube channel. So if you miss them on Twitch, you can join the rest of their dedicated audience when they show up on YouTube!
Eddy has been working with the Extra Credits team for a few years now, but even with that relationship, we’re still thrilled that they are so excited about Realms of Pugmire – just like a whole bunch of you folks who have backed our ongoing Kickstarter so far!
He’s also been running Realms of Pugmire for the talented Kim Godwin, Cat Evans, and Craig Austin for Red Moon Roleplaying’s actual play of Realms of Pugmire! Here’s episode two! https://www.redmoonroleplaying.com/podcast/2023/1/31/realms-of-pugmire-tower-of-the-oliphant-02
And there’s more Realms of Pugmire play to watch! The second episode of the playtest “A Ball to Die For” is now on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-MW3JJ061w
Over the weekend, our intrepid doggos raced past another Stretch Goal – the fifth – and later this week we expect to announce a couple of connected items to enhance your Realms of Pugmire fun! So keep an eye out, these are some of the most requested options for our Kickstarters, and they will be useful for both this 2nd Edition of Pugmire, and for the first edition.
Speaking of first edition, the first adventure for Pugmire, Vinsen’s Tomb, turns 5 tomorrow, the 7th. That’s 35 in dog-years! If you are interested in catching up on first edition Pugmire, we, of course, have PDF bundles in the Realms of Pugmire KS, and there’s also a great sale over at IPR of physical products like the Pugmire cards, and Monarchies of Mau books, Screens, dice, and pins!
Here’s the link to the sale:
https://www.indiepressrevolution.com/xcart/Deals-and-Specials/
(They also have our Scarred Lands books and Screen and dice on sale, which is a great chance to enjoy some d20-based goodness not connected to all of the weirdness over the last month!)
Speaking of good dogs – today marks seven years that the beautiful Miss Molly came to live with the Thomas family!
Tasty Talk About Tasty Bits
In our meeting today we were finalizing discussions on a whole bunch of projects (and opening and continuing other discussions for other projects!) and a large part of what we went over was our monthly Tasty Bits program.
After several years of monthly PDF releases that built up into one or two specific projects, we came up with the Tasty Bits because we were getting enough pitches for projects that were very focused on one aspect of one of our existing game lines and it made us wonder if there was a way to get these ideas out there to y’all, but in a way that wasn’t disruptive to our ongoing projects. Those of you waiting for a particular book know why that last bit was vital.
So rather than a bunch of monthly PDFs leading to a new book, the Tasty Bits were specifically designed to be scattershot in subject matter, and basically covering a lot of different game lines. Add in the idea that we occasionally over-buy some pieces of art for different projects and putting that art into a Tasty Bit meant we could finally show it off, and we have a nice loosely-defined criteria for a fun something each month.
Last year, we decided to add in another component to the Tasty Bits plan, by including VTT components along with the Bit in order to give it even wider usability. You can read it, and use the accompanying map and tokens, etc, as you play it – or add the encounter to your ongoing game.
As I noted on this blog in the past, these are “VTT neutral” game aids, in that they are available on DTRPG and can be dropped into any VTT venue, like Roll20 or Foundry, used on Twitch or over Zoom, or printed out for your table. Whatever works for you!
So, we’ll see how this year goes and whether everyone out there in our community finds them fun and/or useful!
Meanwhile, we have, like, two years of previous Tasty Bit PDFs over on DTRPG, so last year we started chatting about the best way to compile them into a PDF and a physical book PoD. As you might notice popping up on the “Project Progress Report” below, Eddy is shepherding them through a review and compilation process with the intention of releasing a compilation each for They Came From!, Scion, and the Trinity Continuum.
Soon, these nice, compiled, volumes of Tasty Bits will be able to join your other physical books on your shelves!
Other than that, we’ve been doing a lot of adapting to moving with Eddy having made the shift over to jolly old England, several of our freelancers making their own moves, and what we hope is the final chapter of moving Onyx Path Central to our new place happening this week. We hope. Fingers crossed.
But that’s the way of things, isn’t it? People move about. We’ve got to get going in order to travel to all our:

DEVELOPMENT STATUS FROM EDDY
Here are the projects that moved to the next stage of production:
First Draft
Tasty Bit – Spaceship
Tasty Bit – Graveyard
- Eddy: Over the past month of moving I’ve fallen a little behind on these, so last week I made a push to get more of the Tasty Bits moving at once!
Redlines
Exalted – Tomb of Memory (was Exalted Essence Jumpstart)
- Danielle: First drafts have come in and the developers are plugging away at reading through them!
Development
Exalted – What Lies Forgotten novella
- Danielle: Lauren turned in her final draft for this, and I’m going to probably give it a read through this week, so expect it to also move quickly.
Manuscript Approval
Exalted – Scoundrelsong (was Damned Lies) novella
- Danielle: As I mentioned previously, James didn’t have a lot of revisions so this has sailed on through to approvals.
Editing
Tasty Bit – TC: Assassins: Art Museum
- Eddy: Over the past month of moving I’ve fallen a little behind on these, so last week I made a push to get more of the Tasty Bits moving at once!
Scion – Community Content Guide
- Matthew: We draw ever closer to a lovely free product showing you how to write Scion content for your Storypath Nexus products and home games!
Post-Editing Development
Tasty Bit Compilation – Scion
Tasty Bit Compilation – They Came From….
Tasty Bit Compilation – Trinity Continuum
- Eddy: We’re looking into compiling the past two years’ worth of Tasty Bits into three compendiums! It’s still early on in the process, but it’ll be a good chance to review them and present them in a new format for people looking to get a nice collection of fun bits for their favorite games.

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
Related to They Came From [CLASSIFIED]! – available on Backer Kit at https://double-feature.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders – today is the birthday of John Steed, himself, Patrick Macnee. Born in 1922, he made his big break playing the dapper and mischievous Steed for eight years on TV in The Avengers, and then two-ish years on The New Avengers almost a decade later. Despite being seen as a throwback to the traditional English gentleman of an earlier era, one of the writers noted that Steed’s clothing actually meant that they couldn’t put him into regular crowd-scenes as his whole appearance was massively anachronistic for the 60’s. Macnee was also the voice of the Imperious Leader, the Narrator, and played the insidious Count Iblis on the original Battlestar Galactica, as well as Sir Denis Eton-Hogg in the rockumentary comedy This Is Spinal Tap. Always so smooth, he also always seemed to be having a good time – perfect for They Came From! characterizations!
The fact the player’s guide is in art direction is a great thing to see. It means that maybe that KS is right around the corner for it.
Posthumuous happy birthday, Patrick Macnee! I didn’t follow The Avengers (though my parents did), but I remember the original Battlestar Galactica. I prefer the new version, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t entertaining.
