This week, all our art shown will be from Scion: Demigod, whose Backer PDF is slated to go out to backers for review this week. We’re all really looking forward to hearing what backers (and eventually, non-backers) think about it!
Our title, however, is quoted from the notice you get after submitting a Kickstarter campaign to KS. Which I did last week with the one for Exalted: Exigents. So, we’re playing the waiting game, even though we’d rather be playing Hungry, Hungry, Hippos!
But that’s how it works with KS, and we do have other approvals to jump through as well, and then we can start the Exigents KS. Hopefully. So progress is happening, but generally on a low-key level as opposed to any big news or announcements this week.
With that in mind as our theme, or motif, or mood, for this week’s Monday Meeting, I’ll just run down the topics we hit on in the meeting today. If you have any questions about them (or anything else, really) please feel free to bring them up in the comments!
This is the last week for this month’s Onyx Path 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Exalted 3rd game line and here’s a reminder that you’ve got that week to take advantage of the 90% off sale of listed EX3 PDFs. I’ve seen mention on our social media from folks who picked up a few of the PDFs they were missing, or who decided to give EX3 a try because of the sale, and it’s great to hear!
Glad this sale could give our community a chance to read through game books and whole lines they might not have checked out otherwise!
For physical books, you can also check out the IPR Exalted sale for deluxe books and screens, which also ends at the end of April, and the DTRPG Best of Print Sale that contains a whole bunch of our books at a discount for Print On Demand.
(Links to all these sales are below in the Sales area).
May begins another focus on a different game line. I wasn’t going to tell you what it is origin-ally, but I’d have to be a hero to hold out and not tell you. Yet, the celebration (and the sales) don’t really start until Monday, May 2, so maybe knowing that I’ll be spilling the beans on the blog that day will allow me make it until then.
The Onyx Pathcast has been stuffed to the brim all month with Exalted episodes, and this final week is no exception as host Dixie chairs a roundtable of Exalted 3e creators talking in-depth about the state of Exalted 3e right now. This Friday on the Onyx Pathcast – sounds like a can’t-miss episode for Exalted fans!
Another ongoing series for anyone interested in the thinking that goes into our games (or any game theory in general) is Eddy and Danielle’s Lunch and Crunch on our Twitch account, which will feature both charming hosts delving into the importance and challenges of playtesting – at noon Eastern US time this Tuesday (tomorrow as I write this).
Finally, the SFWA (Science Fiction Writers of America) is holding a charity auction that will have open seats for playing in Eddy and Matthew’s donated games! That will be running Monday May 9 to Monday May 16, and is a sweet chance to play with those creators for charity. We’ll post links for that event when we get ’em!

If you’re UK or Europe based, it’s an excellent con to visit and within traveling distance from Edinburgh, which takes flights from a lot of places! Consider paying Tabletop Scotland a visit. https://tabletopscotland.co.uk/

TC: Adventure! – Adventure! Addendum
- Eddy: These are the non-scenario stretch goals for TC: Adventure! It should be a quick turnaround for approval, and then off to editing!
Editing
Crossroads Continent – CRC Adventure #1 (Name Pending)
- RichT: Yay! I get to add a note here for a project we’re putting together with the intention to run and sell during Onyx Path Virtual Con in June! A true starter dungeon, designed just like I would have done it way back in the early days of D&D! Bring your 10′ poles and hopefully we’ll have this ready to debut at the con – and you can watch me DM it!

“Scion Demigod: KS Backer PDF ready to roll out this week” Oh boy! Can’t wait!
I will second that. I am hyped to looke the spreads of the new pantheons.
Gonna be able to do that really soon, now…
Very soon now…
Since Scion:God had all is now officially binder Development. May I politely request some Open Development for it?
Open Development is something that we, as a company, are open to, but which depends on the willingness of individual developers to make happen. Some of our devs feel like they’ve been burned by the process in the past, so are not really excited about opening themselves up to the same negative experiences again. Particularly when we have larger projects on crowd-funding that provide glimpses into the text, comment periods, and then every project gets an errata phase after the Backer or Advance PDF is made available to a large body of people.
Understood. Do what is best.
Feels like it has been awhile since we heard anything on Many-Faced Strangers, anything you can say on when backers might be able to get a look at it?
Pretty much the same info as previously – we’ll use the progress report on this blog to show how a project is moving through the creative stages, and when said project is ready to be sent out it’ll show up in the final stage. Otherwise, we don’t guess on delivery dates if we can avoid it. Thanks!
So, could the Exigents Kickstarter just surprise go live at any time, or do we have to wait for an announcement?
You can bet your sweet bippy, they will announce this one.
My bippie is more savory than sweet, but I guess you’re right.
Hey, language – this is a family comments section! 😉
Sock it to me!
It could…but that’s not our plan. We’d much rather let folks know when it is getting ready, and use the KS pre-launch sign-up process to get interested folks ready. Which you can’t activate until KS OKs your project, so that what we are waiting for, too, besides the OK itself. Then, as noted in the blog, we still have other approvals to get through before we can go live.
