Here are, in fact, almost all the buttons we’ll be giving away at our booth at Gen Con this year! (Tell me which one will be there but isn’t pictured and win a much-desired no-prize!) Just like last year, every day of the con we’ll have different themed buttons for each day. Once we give them all out they are gone, so get to the booth early!
We’ll also have give-away cards for rerolls, extra Willpower, and for Fortune for Pugmire. And new Pugmire and Scion 2nd Edition posters, as well as our famous two-sided Scion and Trinity Continuum poster brought back by popular acclaim!
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, we’re evolving our booth this year to give folks a chance to demo our various games, either with brief intros to the games and systems, or longer demos (20 minutes-ish), right there at the booth. Just ask Merry Mike Hollywood or Boppin’ Bill Bodden, our booth managers, if you want to try a demo. It’s a great chance to learn about some of the games we have that you might not have had a chance to play, or are new to you.
We will also have copies of our most recent PoD releases you might not have had a chance to order yet, including the Chronicles of Darkness Dark Eras fiction anthology physical book premiering at Gen Con this year! Look for Mage 20th, CofD Dark Eras, Exalted 3rd, and a bunch of other books!
You can find a link to our events, like panels and tabletop gaming, below in the BLURBS! section, but speaking of our panels:
HEY FOLKS READING THIS THAT AREN’T GOING TO GEN CON! If you want to send us questions to answer at our panels, write them to me here in the comments section of this blog and we’ll try and drop them into the Q&A sections of our Gen Con panels!
So that’s some more convention stuff, and our other big news was the wrap-up (with a blood-soaked bow) of the Deluxe V20 Beckett’s Jyhad Diary Kickstarter this weekend. We received amazing support from our V20 community and pretty much blew through all the Stretch Goals we had planned, adding 6 regular chapters as well as a larger than planned “Omega” chapter that will touch on how our other V20 books relate to Beckett’s discoveries.
I knew going into the KS that the high cost of the deluxe book might put some people off pledging, as we needed to cover the higher costs of creating the sort of deluxe cover that would feel like a “travel journal” for Beckett. But, after all, being able to do something truly different is really the point of a Kickstarter like this. Nevertheless, support far exceeded expectations – and a big thanks to everyone who pledged and who propelled us past 1100 backers and over $116,000.
We’ll be using BackerKit for the back-end of this Kickstarter campaign, so not only will backers be able to upgrade their pledges and add more Add-ons, but if you missed the KS you’ll be able to still contribute for a deluxe book and other things like the V20 deluxe dice set.
Thanks again!
BLURBS!
KICKSTARTER!

TODAY’S REASON TO DRINK: Stuck between two political conventions, feelin’ like a fool…
And so we wait another week for Promethean.
Oh well. Means I can buy me a physical copy of Fantasy Friends finally. I’ll have money next week for when Promethean comes out.
We would need to get the OK from WWP really soon, in order to get it out next week. Remember that Onyx Path as a whole is gone from our usual Wednesday on-sale time until the following week.
Point is that it actually works better for my finances that it comes out later than this week. I imagine, it being the end of the month, that’s probably true for a lot of people.
Very excited to get it, obviously. 🙂
As I said last week, if you ever made pins for sale via Redbubble or somewhere else, I’d be all over that.
Gorgeous art for Secrets of the Covenants.
I love that song. And now it’s going to be stuck in my head all night.
east is east and west is west
Sorry for the ear worm. Kind of. 🙂
The button that’s not pictured is the Deva button.
You win! Natty Neall Raemonn Price will be helicoptering above your home town ready to drop your No-Prize to you. Keep an eye on the skies. Also, Neall is catchable in Pokémon Go, so you might be able to find him that way.
Not sure whats not there but I do spy the new icons for the Manitou and Orisha :).
😀
You are correct, sir!
Sweet swag there. Love the NEW M20 books coming down the pipe. C20, Kinfolk and BoS are in the home stretch sweet !!! I do have 2 questions, will the ST screen for M20 be available on pdf on drive through and will the lenticular card be for sale by any chance in the near future ?
Possibly on the PDF, and as for the cards: folks should stop by the booth at GenCon, we might have a couple extra there on 20th Anniversary WoD day.
I’ve a question regarding Scarred Lands Player Guide. Up till, I think, previous Monday meeting notes it was listed Just as Scarred Lands PG but now it’s Scarred Lands PG PF. Does it means that only pathfinder version is in “Proofing” and the 5e version will be released on later date or does it means that 5e version is already proofed?
Look under Development, the 5E version is there. We expect it to move forward pretty quickly, though.
Thanks for quick answer. I saw it
in development section but was hoping that “Scarred Lands Player’s Guide 5E: Ghelspad” is some kind of additional content to “Scarred Lands PG 5E” you know like with “WoD Mirrors” and “WoD Mirrors: Bleeding Edge”.
Will you be doing a post on the development quirks of translating a setting into two different rulesets simultaneously. Not sure if that would be from OPP or NM though.
That could be a really interesting post! I’ll talk to developer Scott Holden and see what he thinks. We’d probably post it on both sites. Thanks!
When the kickstarter for Scion goes live will backers have access to the rule set to play it like you did for Beast?
Our current plans are not to have every single chapter available as the text is not all completely finished and ready for editing. That may have changed by the time we are ready for the KS and we’ll adapt to that then. Thanks!
Just as long as there are some chapters far enough along for public viewing when the KS goes live, I, like Randy Bachman, will take what I can get. 🙂
Oh, I just thought of a question for the Gencon Q&A.
Have you thought about expanding your crowdfunding to Patreon?
It seems to me you could use it to publish material that’s needed, but doesn’t fit into the main publishing pipeline for some reason, like 2nd Edition updates for Mage Legacies. It might also give you an opportunity to give writers a more reliable income stream between major publications, maybe set up a monthly magazine-style publication and ask patrons what kind of content they’d like to see more of.
The long wait between books can get painful sometimes, and I, for one, wouldn’t mind more regular content to tide me over.
Awesome! Thanks!
Please put on your thinking caps, folks, and follow Tiresias’s lead and fire us off some questions!
I’d love to hear about the process of choosing which Pantheons made it into Scion 2e and how some more obscure choices made it in (Manitouk was an awesome curveball) over the more mainstream recognizable ones (like the Babylonian gods). Also any thoughts for Scion historical setting and anything you can spare about the future of Mummy as a line or a possible revisit of Demon in the X20 format.
Good ones. Thanks!
Another Scion question, if you don’t mind: I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts on how to handle adapting living religions for a roleplaying game. There’s always some measure of controvery incorporating the Hindu gods into fiction, and I know the topic of an Abrahamic Pantheon is one hell of a minefield.
Also I was wondering with the Gen Con Swag be for sale anywhere ? For those that can’t make it..
Not necessarily in the forms at the convention, like with the posters we might do smaller Print on Demand versions for sale on DTRPG. The Scion pantheon buttons may show up in the Scion 2nd Edition Kickstarter at the end of August. We might, might, have other options with our RedBubble store as well. But as free give-aways in the form we have them right now, no.
For the Gencon Q&A, if you’ll be able to field Exalted questions, I’d like to know more about Warstriders.
Anything more specific about them than that?
What the changes for them in 3e are going to be, any mechanical spoilers, that sort of thing.
Awesome, thanks!
Any chance of those Gen Con panels being recorded?
Just bought the camera for it today.
You’re a saint.
Thank you for your feedback rich, it is appreciated 🙂
OH, how might I be able to purchase a Lenticular Card if I cant go to gen con, will it be available for sale at IPR ?
Maybe someday.
For the love of all that may be shiny: move forward, Secrets of the Covenants, move forward.
I second that!
Is it to late for the questions? If not.
Will there be a Lore of Tribes/Traditions book for the Werewolf/Mage lines?
