Okay, so calling this “media” in the traditional sense is a bit of a stretch, but bear with me. I’ve recently discovered WIR (where I read) threads of roleplaying games, most of which seem to take place over on RPGnet. These threads – created by fans, players, and GMs of games – take you through roleplaying games chapter by chapter (sometimes even
section-of-a-chapter by section-of-a-chapter) and are an excellent way of exploring games without putting down the money to buy one. Essentially, they’re long form reviews with added input from other roleplayers (and sometimes the game’s designers, too).
I felt it would be a good idea to highlight some of the recent WIR threads I’ve discovered! Some of them are just concluding, others have only just begun. We very much appreciate anyone who goes to the lengths of writing about our games in such detailed fashion, and would love it if you decided to do the same, whether with our core books or sourcebooks!
