Now Available: V20 Beckett’s Jyhad Diary!

Hi, everyone! Ian from the past here. As this post goes live, I’ll be in an airplane on my way to Midwinter. As such, I can’t test the link before it goes live, so there’s a slight chance there may be an issue. Report it below in the comments and I’ll fix it as soon as I’m hooked up to Wifi.

Now available in PDF and print from DriveThruRPG: Beckett’s Jyhad Diary for Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition!

It’s ever been a loaded word among vampires. Jyhad is in force everywhere from lofty, perfumed Elysium to cloying, smoke-filled blood feasts. Jyhad’s the eternal game played by elders, Methuselahs, and worse — it’s the agenda of beings so utterly beyond humanity, one such as yourself could scarcely understand its movements.

Luckily for you, you’ve picked up a copy of my diary. With my help you may just take a step on the first rung of understanding. Information worth having is information you must earn through blood, and oh, how I’ve bled for what’s contained within these pages.

— Beckett

Beckett’s Jyhad Diary serves as the definitive book of setting and plot for Vampire: The Masquerade, containing 30 chapters spanning different geographical regions, encountering vampires of every clan, profiling obscure and profound segments of the mythology, and providing countless story hooks on every page.

Masterfully written by the likes of Neall Raemonn Price, Joshua Alan Doetsch, Myranda Sarro, Steffie de Vaan, Malcolm Sheppard, Alan Alexander, Renee Knipe, and Matthew Dawkins, Beckett’s Jyhad Diary is as fascinating to read as to use for your game Chronicles.

This stunning full-colour book is 559 pages, which is longer than the V20 rulebook itself! Those pages are bursting to overflowing with references to characters, locations, and events spanning the entire 27-year history of Vampire: The Masquerade, including material from novels, Dark Ages books, Victorian Age books, the Vampire: The Eternal Struggle card game, and the VTM Redemption and VTM Bloodlines PC games. And there’s new material too, like a tantalizing peek at South American Kindred, in the same vein as the Laibon of Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom.

We’re really excited about this book and hope you enjoy it.

  1. Thanks Ian – been waiting for this! Just to make sure I’ve got it right, do the 30 chapters include the additional material that was added when stretch goals were met on Kickstarter?

  2. Has the errata’d PDF not been uploaded yet?

I was a backer, and checking my DRPG library, I’m still seeing the backer PDF that was first sent out.

      • Is this an issue for every purchase or merely those who got the backer version? Also, when will it get fixed? I’d rather wait reading it until it’s fixed.

For instance in my version on page 45 the word “naïve” has a square/checkbox instead of an “ï”. Not sure if that’s from the old non errata version or not?

  3. As a Backer of this KS (and many previous OP KS’s), I’m disappointed. I’ve been patiently waiting to receive any email or message with a link to the Backer PDF. Now the PoD of the BJD is up, and I still haven’t received a link. Was I overlooked somehow?

    Respectfully,

    • Have you been getting your Backer Updates? There’s the ones about the PDF from a few months ago, and in them I ask backers to use the Kickstarter to contact me directly if they have issues. No need to be waiting and disappointed! Because we used BackerKit to send out the PDFs, you can go on your BK pledge page and go to the Digital Downloads page and get the link there.
