Open Development: Anarchs Unbound Live Outlining Session Results

The community outlining session of Anarchs Unbound at Atlanta by Night was a massive success. The group of players in attendance had a nonstop stream of great ideas, which we added to my basic skeletal outline. I didn’t know what to expect going into this Open Development session, but the assembled players certainly didn’t disappoint. I don’t think we had a single idea come up that wasn’t useful which is a testament to how well the players understand what we’re trying to do and (hopefully) an indicator that development is headed in a direction that players want and find useful. It was awesome to behold, and huge thanks to everyone involved.

The next step is to distill this into an actual outline from the mindmap, which I’ll also share publicly once it’s up and running.

You can see the mindmap that we authored in real-time right here.

  1. I gotta say I am very excited the Anarchs are getting some love. I’ve been playing an Anarch in L.A. for about 8 yrs with OWBN and part of the Orgs first anarch game. I know myself and other anarchs would love to hear what is in the works and offer insight where possible.

  2. Great to see the mindmap. Is this the place for me to offer my $0.02? I’m going to asume ‘yes’ 😉

    Character Creation (and/or Recruiting):
Character creation could really use a feature on creating Caitiff. These clanless are (for me) an integrall part of the Anarch demographics and perhaps the one organisation they can shine in.

    history:
The great anarchists of the movement. A section on the ‘leading examples’ would be great. I can see the anarchs paying homage to the succesful anarchs from yesteryear, those rebels that paved the way for them with their succesful raids on the establishment. Think Tyler, Jeremy MacNeil and Smiling Jack of course, but new names could easily be presented here. Perhaps continue to build the legend of one or two chracters from the Children of the Revolution book?
(PS: I know the anarchs are not high on prestige-like systems, but that does not mean they’re not respectful to those who deserve it.)

    Titles and functions:
This whole section reeks like ‘Guide to the Sabbat’. I’m curious to see how you’ll make the difference clear. Personally, I’d like the ‘order in chaos’ to be minimal, just enough to keep it stable (enough).

  3. Free State Models. No mention of Australia, lets ignore the fact that Perth is now after the fall of the Free States in the Eastern USA’s fall to the New Promice Manderinate the most succesful of the Free states then shall we?

I’ll also point out that at least two of the Major cities of the Country are also ripe for Anarch Revolt…
