Gifts: Auspice Edition

So you know what to expect from the breed Gifts. Here, then, is a sample auspice Gift list to show you what’s going on there. Again, expect consistency; the Theurges won’t be getting more Level Two Gifts than these guys, for instance, even if there are historically more Theurge Gifts. (There might be, but I … Read more

ChilRev: Meixiu

I saw some good response to Lizette, a comparatively young Kindred whose modern revolutionary Embrace grounded the idea of “Children of the Revolution” in a context of what players and Storytellers might be able to do with the idea of domain and the limited understanding of stagnant Elders. By contrast, here we have Meixiu, a … Read more

ChilRev: Lizette

Hello again, Kindred revolutionaries. Today we have a vampire much younger than many of the others we’ve seen here, in that she’s only a year old (if that!) but has made quite a place for herself. In particular, what I like about this character are: The creative use of domain, in the form of a … Read more

Enough Gifts For Christmas

How many Gifts are in Werewolf 20? A lot. Not all of them — that’s crazy — but a lot. We wanted a lot of choice to differentiate starting characters, so we went up to five initial selections for Level One Gifts. And there’s more than two per level thereafter. Duplication does occur, mind, but people shouldn’t be too disappointed at the lack of choice. At least I hope so.

But why not judge for yourself? Here’s the list of homid Gifts as will be printed in yon book, no more, no less.

Nasch the Circassian

Howdy, faithful Kindred scholars. Tonight I have for you Nasch the Circassian. He’s got a few years under his belt, and he often finds his way into some high-profile trouble, but he has some blemishes in his history that a clever coterie might be able to work around or even remedy. In particular, I like … Read more

One More: Uktena

One last tribal spread; they seem to be okay format-wise, but what the heck. The Uktena always struck me as one of the “least picked” tribes, but I think they’re beyond fascinating. It seems appropriate to show you them, especially as we have a revised Prescott sketch to go with it. He added some more … Read more

Mythic Tragedy: The Nabataean

Here we see the Nabataean, one of the Children of the Revolution penned by Mummy developer C.A. Suleiman. Thematically, I love this guy. He exudes a mythic feel that’s perfect for an elder vampire, and he does it without being an uber-character who can blow something into splinters by looking at it. He’s also tied … Read more

Controversy Ho!

Sorry, folks, but I’ve been quite occupied with things that didn’t lend themselves to posting. So, here’s a quick question to throw out for discussion: Tribal Weaknesses. Completely optional, added in for Revised, mostly used by folks who wanted to add some more drawbacks to the Garou. Should we include them? The argument pro is … Read more

Diverse Backgrounds

Quick something for the weekend: A couple of you noticed the tweak to Backgrounds we’ve made for Werewolf 20. Essentially, it always seemed a little odd to us that no Get of Fenris could ever have a Contact: yes, it’s socially discouraged, but it’s not categorically impossible, and it feels weird to say that no … Read more
